Kpop R&B singer-songwriter and Joy’s dearest boyfriend Crush is reportedly facing a racism controversy allegation against black fans. Check out what really happened behind Crush racism allegation: watch the full video footage and see if you think he was really being racist.
Kpop Singer Crush and His Alleged Racism Controversy Towards Black Fans
On October 10, various media reported that Kpop R&B singer-songwriter Crush had become the talk of the town due to his alleged racism towards black fans. According to some reports, during his concert, Crush deliberately skipped over 2 black fans, avoided shaking their hands while saying “no”, then continued shaking the hands of his other fans.
And the fans who allegedly experienced Crush racism controversy posted evidence in the form of video footage.
The Black Fans Posted Video Footage About Crush Alleged Racism Controversy
It all started when a black fan posted a testimony and video footage on Twitter about the racism controversy of Kpop singer Crush against her. In the testimony, Crush allegedly skipped over the two black fans while shaking hands with the people before and after.
Not only that, but in the video footage, Crush was also seen as if he was saying “no” to the black fans while raising his left hand. This video is the start of the racism controversy surrounding Kpop singer Crush.
sooo i have decided 2 post it..here it is! the ppl crush says “no” 2 is my roommate n i, u can c my hand go down (i have dark skin so it stands out) right after. i dont think crush should “get away” w this. i want other ppl 2 know what he did! https://t.co/BNgvkNsKYk pic.twitter.com/cB42zXcU28

Along with the video, another black fan also testified about what had happened. She stated that she was so disappointed in such behavior from the idol she loved. Not to mention, she also felt embarrassed that it happened in front of so many people.
yeah… i’m the roommate. for this to happen to us first hand really broke my heart. i’ve never experienced blatant discrimination like this in my entire life. especially since he was my favorite artist, it hurts so bad https://t.co/AhoyLU1zOw

The two black fans are roommates who are also famous for being loyal fans to Crush for a long time. That is why one of her friends moved her hand away so Crush could get to the two of them. However, Crush deliberately skipped over the two and still managed to shake the hand of the friend’s lowered hand.
For a person who has been a devoted fan of Kpop singer Crush for a long time, the racism controversy has become such a painful and disappointing experience.
also wanna add that my friend n i have been fans since idek how long. me specifically, i listened 2 his music EVERY DAY b4 n thruout hs. my friend even bought me a cd of 1 of his albums in hs bc she knew i luved him sm. so this rly rly fucking hurt lol

Crush Posted an Apology for the Racism Controversy Towards the 2 Black Fans
Following the viral racism controversy against black fans, Kpop singer Crush posted an official apology in a 2-page post on his Instagram. According to Crush, he deliberately refrained from giving out high fives due to safety issues.
In the explanation, Crush stated that when the incident happened, fans in the front row were getting pushed to close to the fences. That is why he decided not to extend his hand so it didn’t endanger the fans.
The Fans Refuted Crush’s Argument by Giving Another Video Evidence
However, apparently Crush explanation about his racism controversy towards black fans was still debatable. That is because after Crush posted his apology, the fans refuted the explanation and stated that there was no pushing during the incident. Everyone was enjoying the concert until suddenly Crush skipped over the OP (original poster).
The fans then posted another video evidence from a friend standing behind her and her roommate. She also explained that she had been standing in the front row from the beginning, so the claim that they were the one pushing the fans around them were not true.
as u can c, the video was comfortably taken. nobody was uncomfortable 😭 every1 AROUND me, in my vicinity, was fine. not 2 mention it wasnt like crush skipped my entire section..he STILL touched the hands of ppl NEXT 2 me. 🤷🏿♀️

This is NOT The First Time
Following Crush alleged racism controversy, the public began to point out his past incidents. Apparently, the concert was not the first time Crush disrespected the black community.
In 2016, Kpop singer Crush participated in the “King of Masked Singer” show. And at the time, Crush wore a mask from a black caricature character, Michol, from the Korean animation “Dooly”. This questionable decision from Crush became controversial since the show allows all its participants to bring their own masks.
TW: blackface

On masked singer in korea of 2016 crush wore a mask that was supposed to be like a black face which technically is blackface. I’m very disgusted but not shocked pic.twitter.com/ZFItagFLyr
It means that it was Crush himself who decided to go with the black character mask. This decision also appalled the public since Crush is a renowned R&B singer, a genre that is created by the very community he had disrespected.
I’m disgusted by @crush9244’s actions, his music is centered around Hip-Hop a genre created by BLACK PEOPLE! But he has the audacity to be racist towards the same group of people he is benefiting off of..
— newtannies (@newtannies) October 10, 2022
and overall using the black culture for aesthetics and to benefit off of yet having no respect for the culture or its people at all and when we do speak up about it and call out the behavior we are met with racial slurs, made to feel inferior, told we’re overreacting and more.

If it was just one video where he only happened to pass over black hands, then *maybe* some benefit of the doubt.

But the “No” gesture, and the KOMS mask, and his nonsensical explanation for all this?
Yeah, Crush looking pretty racist. https://t.co/nROWzHfjwZ

🙁
I don't know what to say, but yeah it seems that he is in trouble now
Yea I didn't know what to say either
As a fan of Crush.. this is so sad... But if you're really his fan, you should know that he's a very toxic person... You can see it from his interviews, post on social media and mostly on his lyrics.. that's why although I'm his fan, I would never follow his character... But in terms of music, he would still be #1 on my list.. but people change, let's just see...
I've seen other footage from a different angle much closer at this event on tiktok @y00ngisba3123 and he lied about them rushing up its clearly seen they are calm and he deliberately avoids them. Disgusting behaviour in general then to to double down and blame the fans who he hurt and in general disrespect people when he profits off their culture and them as fans. Throw the whole man away
I don't think Crush is a racist. I believe that there were so many hands out in the crowd "who to choose?" Plus, some Koreans are dark naturally. I think the problem is, as Blk people we want everyone's validation. Instead of being fortified in our own Blackness. I refuse to let some K-R&B singer ruin the night. When in Korea, you kinda have to expect discrimination. I don't understand the heartbreak one would have over these artists. When the majority of us are already aware of how they conduct themselves out in that country. Be glad he didn't touch hands he could unknowingly pass COVID to his audience.
