CUBE Entertainment Fails to Renew Contract with (G)I-DLE Soyeon
South Korea’s most brilliant and iconic female rapper–producer, Jeon Soyeon of (G)I-DLE, will reportedly be leaving CUBE Entertainment.
On October 25, Korean media outlet Xports News reported that Soyeon had confirmed to be parting ways with her agency. According to the report, Soyeon had been discussing her contract renewal with CUBE Entertainment. Unfortunately, the discussion did not go as planned, so the negotiation eventually failed.
Hence, Soyeon will soon be reportedly leaving CUBE Entertainment and going separate ways with the agency.
Soyeon Leaving CUBE Entertainment: A Foreseen Move
While this move may have shocked the public, fans of (G)I-DLE and Soyeon were not surprised by this outcome.
It has been a public secret that (G)I-DLE Soyeon and the company have not always been in the best terms due to the company’s alleged poor management. Therefore, when the exclusive contract between Soyeon and CUBE Entertainment ends in November, many have speculated that she was going to leave the company.
Not only that, but Soyeon previously hinted at this contract negotiation during her solo stage at a concert in August. At the time, she changed part of her lyrics, declaring that nothing could stop her once her contract ended.

Initially, CUBE Entertainment explained that it was a “recontracting period for all the members” and dismissed the lyric as merely “part of the stage performance.”
However, the company later acknowledged that Soyeon’s contract does, in fact, expire in November. Amid these developments, Soyeon openly voiced her dissatisfaction with CUBE Entertainment, even directly criticizing the company.
Official Statement from CUBE Entertainment Regarding Failed Contract Renewal
Later the day, after the news of Soyeon leaving CUBE Entertainment circulated on the internet, the company immediately responded with an official statement.
“Discussions for a contract renewal with Jeon Soyeon are still ongoing.
CUBE Entertainment.
Additionally, Soyeon will continue to fulfill her scheduled activities as planned.”
Yet, nothing has been set in stone because fans see this statement as a temporary damage control to appease the public.
