Some Kpop Idols Became Dads Before Marriage
Although there is an unwritten rule that Kpop idols shouldn’t date, some have boy/girlfriend, either openly or secretly. Some of the Kpop idols even surprised fans by announcing the pregnancy of their fiancées even before marriage.
In 2020, we knew that EXO Chen announced his fiancée’s pregnancy and decided to marry her. And in 2021, we have iKON Bobby and 2PM Chansung.
On August 20, 2021, iKON Bobby took Instagram to announce his fiancée’s pregnancy and their marriage. “I am happy to welcome a new family member, but I feel more apologetic to the fans who must be taken aback by my news,” wrote Bobby in his handwritten letter.
Besides, on December 2021, 2PM maknae, Hwang Chansung also announced the fiancée’s pregnancy and upcoming marriage. He also posted a handwritten letter on Instagram. “I have been preparing to marry this special person after my military discharge. Then, during the preparation, a new life blessing came earlier than we had expected. Therefore, we plan to have our wedding ceremony soon as early next year,” Chansung wrote.
Bobby decided to continue the contract with the agency and stay with iKON. However, Chansung will be leaving JYP Entertainment in January following the contract expiration.
