Disney+ New Korean Drama Series “Seoul Busters”
On May 21, Disney+ officially announced its new Korean drama series, “Seoul Busters,” also known as “Kang Mae Kang,” by unveiling the main cast photo on its official Instagram. The drama’s main cast consists of Kim Dong Wook, Park Ji Hwan, Seo Hyun Woo, Park Se Wan, and Lee Seung Woo. Additionally, the twelve-episode series is set to premiere on the OTT platform in September this year.
According to a report from the edaily news outlet on May 17, SBS picked up the new drama, adding it to its highly anticipated programs that will air in 2024. Despite being highly anticipated by SBS and teased at the 2023 SBS Acting Awards, the drama “Seoul Busters,” will no longer be airing on the network.
Broadcasting officials revealed that the network had initially scheduled the drama to air in May 2024. However, it encountered challenges due to frequent programming changes. Subsequently, it had been a topic of discussion as a Wednesday-Thursday drama that disappeared from SBS in 2019. However, the confirmation of Disney+ programming took place during this process.
Storyline
“Seoul Busters” is a comedy crime Korean drama that will captivate the audience. The story follows a low-ranking homicide squad unit in the country. After a highly skilled team leader takes charge of the unit, they transform into the country’s top homicide squad unit.
The drama is a collaboration between renowned screenwriters Lee Young Chul and Lee Kwang Jae. Lee Young Chul’s famous works are “High Kick” and “The Best Hit” series. And Lee Kwang Jae’s renowned work is “Potato Star 2013QR3.”

Dongbang Yoo Bin is the head of the Songwon Police Station’s Homicide Squad Unit 2. He is a handsome and intelligent man with exceptional athletic ability. However, he decided to return to Korea and applied to lead the Homicide Squad Unit 2 at the Songwon Police Station. The unit currently holds the lowest rank in solving crimes in the country.
Park Ji Hwan as Detective Moo Joong Ryeok
Moo Joong Ryeok is a veteran detective and a former member of the national boxing team. Despite his rugged appearance, he possesses exceptional charms.
Seo Hyun Woo as Detective Jung Jung Hwan
Detective Jung Jung Hwan is a former member of the national shooting team. He dreamed of winning numerous Olympic championships. However, he is now solely focused on earning a promotion to provide for his family.
Park Se Wan as Detective Seo Min Seo
