ENHYPEN Talks about Their Debut Mini-Album Border: Day One

On November 30, ENHYPEN has officially made their most-awaited debut mini-album Border: Day One. Prior to the album release, they held a showcase to talk about ENHYPEN members feelings about their debut and goals as a rookie group of 2020.

Heesung explained that ENHYPEN debut mini-album Border: Day One tells the story of seven members who stand on the border. “It’s the border between becoming an artist from a trainee to a team and an individual. We have taken a step forward, and the album tells the story of the things we learned in the course of our maturing,” he added.

ENHYPEN Goals as Boy Group

ENHYPEN members really look up to the boy group under Big Hit Entertainment, BTS. Jay said, “I bet we all dreamed of becoming stars by looking at performances by BTS. They gave us advice in person and told us how we should prepare ourselves as artists and what attitudes to have. And following in their footsteps, we would like to spread K-pop to the world as well.”

No wonder if they take BTS as their role model. As we all know, ENHYPEN was formed during the Mnet audition program I-LAND, which began earlier this year in collaboration with Big Hit Entertainment and Belift Lab.

However, ENHYPEN is deftly different from BTS as Jungwon said, “Our story is ours only, and we tell that through our music and performances. All of us fought and won our way into ‘I-LAND,’ and that’s given us the most realistic story to tell.”

Who is ENHYPEN Leader?

Previously, ENHYPEN has decided who will be the leader of the group. There were two candidates: Jungwon and Heeseung. They went through several tests and interviews. And in the end, it was decided Jungwon be the ENHYPEN leader.

“Both Jungwon and I were candidates for the position, but I figured I would prefer the role of the eldest member or teammate better,” Heesung explained.

Jungwon is grateful that he was selected as ENHYPEN leader, saying, “I was surprised and thankful that the members chose me. I’ll work hard to lead them.”

Jungwon, Youngest Leader

Recently, Jungwon the youngest leader in Kpop industry, was praised for his ability to diverse negative question from reporter about low rating for I-LAND to positivity.
