It is not a secret that agencies control their idols’ appearances. However, only a few idols can express their dissatisfaction with appearance changes. EVERGLOW Mia shocked Kpop fans by clearly stating that she is disturbed by her new hairstyle.
Mia Appeared in a Shocking New Hairstyle
EVERGLOW held a photo op with the media and Forevers (EVERGLOW fandom) at the Incheon International Airport before they departed for a schedule abroad.
The members always impressed fans with their top-notch visuals and stylish airport outfits. Among them, Mia particularly stood out for her new look!
Contrary to her signature long, blonde hair, EVERGLOW Mia made fans’ jaws drop with her drastic transformation into short, blue hair.

Fans Loved It, But Mia Didn’t
While fans instantly fell in love with her new haircut, Mia confessed that her new hairstyle disturbed her.
As the topic of Mia’s new hairstyle circulates, some decided to ask the idol directly through EVERGLOW fan café about the behind-story of her short hair, the shortest cut Mia has had throughout her idol career.
When asked about her drastic change in style, Mia hinted that she or her hairstylist did not make the decision.
“Where did my hair go… I was surprised too… my hair… It wasn’t my choice. It wasn’t the hairstylist’s choice.”
One fan also asked Mia about her feelings about the new hairstyle and how she was adjusting to the change. Mia shocked fans with her response.
“(I’m) disturbed (by it).”
When asked why she was unhappy with the new style, she then revealed the reason, adding:
“The confused/upset feeling I felt while having my haircut… thinking will it suit me… will Forever like it… etc…”
Fans Demand Agencies to Respect the Idols
As Forevers’ excitement quickly dampened following Mia’s revelation, the fandom immediately called out Yuehua Entertainment. They speculated that if the stylist or the idol herself weren’t behind the decision to cut her hair short, it was most likely the label’s idea.
Although it’s common in the Kpop industry for idols’ looks to be tightly controlled by their management, it’s rare for an idol to speak out so candidly about their dissatisfaction with these choices.
Forevers, who especially advocate for idols to have autonomy regarding their personal style and outfit choices, supported Mia for being vocal about it and holding hands to demand Yuehua to give artists freedom regarding their aesthetics.
