“Extraordinary Attorney Woo” Receives Remake Offers from US, Japan, and MORE!
It seems that ASTORY’s plans to bring a whole new level of branding and franchise of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” is almost successful. After previously confirmed for a musical and an ongoing plan for Season 2, “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” will possibly be going on with their remake plans in multiple countries, including US and Japan.
On September 6, Korean media reported that “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” has received multiple remake offers, not only from the US. Previously, ASTORY confirmed that they were reviewing remake requests from the United States and other countries. However, today, there is a higher chance that the company will proceed with the plans.
It all started when ASTORY CEO Lee Sang Baek and director Yoo In Sik attended the 2022 Broadcast Worldwide convention in Seoul last week. This event was where director Yoo In Sik finally stated that the Season 2 will not be happening anytime soon.
Apparently, during this event, ASTORY once again received remake offers not only from US and Japan but also Turkey and Germany.
ASTORY To Possibly Proceed with Remakes of the Korean Drama
Following the remake plans of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” Korean drama, it seems that ASTORY will proceed with the offers.
Various media also reported that the company was discussing details regarding the local versions of the 16-episode series. They demand the local productions to maintain everything regarding the show’s main theme.
Therefore, it doesn’t matter which country produces the remake of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” Korean drama. That is because they all must stand by Woo Young Woo’s iconic personality and her warm heart towards the underprivileged. Not only that, ASTORY also insists on keeping the significance of the whale in the remake.
Hence, ASTORY CEO Lee Sang Baek declared that he would personally participate in the production process of all the adaptations. He will make sure that all the remakes communicate the same message to viewers worldwide.
“I think the favorable and hopeful message in ‘Woo’ will resonate with people worldwide.
And I will participate in the production process of local adaptations in a bid to communicate the feeling and idea that ‘Woo’ has to people across the world.”
