Park Eun Bin & Kang Tae Oh Drama EXTRAORDINARY ATTORNEY WOO Confirms Season 2 and Possible Release Date
After months of confusion and uncertainty, Extraordinary Attorney Woo finally confirmed the production and possible release date of Season 2.
On June 9, JTBC exclusively reported that the contract for Extraordinary Attorney Woo 2 production was finally ready. An official from the drama’s production team revealed to JTBC News on the same day that both ASTORY and writer Moon Ji Won had officially signed the contract for the show’s upcoming season.
“ASTORY, the company in collaboration with ENA for Extraordinary Attorney Woo production, recently finalized their contract with writer Mon Ji Won for the Season 2 creation.”
a production team’s official to JTBC.
EXTRAORDINARY ATTORNEY WOO and Its MASSIVE Influence
Previously, writer Moon Ji Won, ASTORY company, and ENA broadcasting channel created the most outstanding collaboration with the release of Extraordinary Attorney Woo. The drama massively skyrocketed last year, winning the Baeksang Arts Awards 2023 and entering International Emmy Awards nominations.
Unfortunately, the success of Extraordinary Attorney Woo previously brought confusion among fans and viewers. This is because after realizing how the drama has been a massive hit, ASTORY prematurely announced the production plans of its Season 2 without confirmation from the cast or even the director.
Indeed, after recognizing the massive success and societal influence of Extraordinary Attorney Woo, ASTORY has demonstrated significant ambition. Shortly after its finale, Extraordinary Attorney Woo received numerous remake offers from multiple countries and became a musical production.
Most importantly, the drama proved its strong impact and inspired South Korea’s citizens to protest against South Korea’s absurd education policy.
Knowing how massive the power it holds in the viewers’ hearts, ASTORY dreamed of turning Extraordinary Attorney Woo into an independent brand. They wanted to create more IP content from the drama, including webtoons, merchandise, and a tourist destination.
Will Park Eun Bin and Kang Tae Oh Return?
Now that the agreement has been completed, production for Extraordinary Attorney Woo 2 will soon begin.
Still, the main questions remain: will Park Eun Bin and Kang Tae Oh reprise their roles in Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2, and when is the release date?
Responding to the questions, ASTORY stated to Wikitree that the drama’s upcoming season was still in an internal development stage. After all, writer Moon Ji Won was still designing the concept for the upcoming season while working on other projects simultaneously.
Therefore, the company couldn’t yet comment either on the appearance of Park Eun Bin and Kang Tae Oh in Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2 or its release date.
“We have indeed signed a contract for Extraordinary Attorney Woo’s upcoming season. However, it is still under internal development because writer Moon Ji Won is still working on various ongoing projects.”
ASTORY.
Earlier, director Yoo In Sik once stated Extraordinary Attorney Woo cast and crew only signed a contract for 1 season. That is why a completely identical production for Season 2 would be difficult.
Meanwhile, producing Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2 without Park Eun Bin and Kang Tae Oh would be too risky. That is because both actors hold the key to the drama’s success.
Park Eun Bin’s impeccable portrayal of Woo Young Woo brought her first ever Daesang in over 2 decades of acting career. And Kang Tae Oh became the world’s most wanted boyfriend due to her role as Lee Jun Ho.
Your Thoughts?
Finally, what do you think? Will Extraordinary Attorney Woo Season 2 be a success even if its main cast Park Eun Bin and Kang Tae Oh eventually cannot join the project?

The announcement of a contract for EAW2's script, without presenting the future cast, puts a kind of pressure on Park Eun-bin who apparently has not agreed yet to take the main role again. The large audience hardly imagines the second season without her. I suppose that she needs to read the script before she decides. If Ms. Park is cautious or reluctant, it is perfectly understandable because making equally good or better season 2 will be very challenging. EAW1 have attained limits of plausibility on some aspects and the story will need more drammaturgy and a more realistic approach in order to convince again. A simple continuation, extrapolation with the same scheme, will not do any good in my opinion. The purpose of making a season 2 will need to be clarified by the creators. This series dealt with serious social issues and continuing it just because it was extremely popular may not necessarily improve its positive impact.
