Despite the confirmed statement from the production team, “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” director officially stated that Season 2 release date will not be arriving anytime soon. Check out the following complete statement from director Yoo In Sik.
Director Confirmed “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” Season 2 Release Date Will NOT Be Anytime Soon
ENA’s “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” has become one of the Korean dramas with the highest rating this year so far. Its skyrocketing reputation has caused the production company, ASTORY, to immediately secure and promote the drama with all its exclusive intellectual property.
That is why previously ASTORY CEO confirmed that they would create a Season 2 of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” with 90% of its original cast and crew.
However, confusion arose after most cast and production team of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” immediately stated that they had no idea about the season 2 plan for the drama.
In a special session at the International Broadcasting and Video Market (BCWW) event held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Jung-gu, Seoul recently, director Yoo In Sik officially confirmed that although the plan for of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” Season 2 is definite, the release date will not happen anytime soon.
“It will be difficult for a second season to come out anytime soon.”

What is the Reason?
After bringing such tremendous excitement for “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” Musical and Season 2, fans must face another disappointment today after the director confirmed the misunderstanding.
So what is the reason behind the long postponement?
According to director Yoo In Sik, it takes a long time to arrange the matching schedule between the drama’s cast. After all, unlike western serials, most actors in Korean dramas sign the contract for a limited plan in the beginning. On top of everything, actor Kang Tae Oh is also enlisting in the military soon.
Therefore, despite Season 2 being in their fixed plan, the company cannot confirm its release date for now.
“Unlike in America, where seasons of a show are ordered in the beginning, actors in Korea aren’t contracted for multiple seasons at a time.
Therefore, although the staff and actors all want to participate, it will take time to figure out a schedule that works for everybody.
Still, we are hopeful and working towards the goal. However, it is currently hard to confirm the Season 2.”

ASTORY Plans to Expand “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” by Securing IP and Building Woo Young Woo Town
ASTORY CEO Lee Sang Baek, who was also present during the interview, did not comment anything about the Season 2. However, the CEO emphasized that he planned on expanding the brand into one of the South Korean tourist destinations.
“If we’re able to secure two or three more theaters and release musicals, the area can be used as a ‘Woo Young-woo Town’ or a tourist destination.”
