The ongoing lawsuit between members of the “Cupid” Kpop group FIFTY FIFTY and their agency, ATTRAKT, does not appear to be ending soon. It seems that FIFTY FIFTY members have no intention of peacefully settling the lawsuit. Instead, they choose a more challenging approach to face the ongoing dispute with the company. With the recent development of the lawsuit and the declining public’s opinion about them, does it mean “Cupid” singer FIFTY FIFTY will eventually disband with no future? Let us dig into a deeper discussion about the issue in the following report.
Members of “Cupid” Kpop Group FIFTY FIFTY Refuses Mediation in Lawsuit Against ATTRAKT
“Cupid” singer and the supposed dark horse of the Kpop industry, FIFTY FIFTY, has taken a more shocking approach to handling their lawsuit against the company, ATTRAKT. Members of FIFTY FIFTY have reportedly refused to make peace with the company through mediation and will continue their lawsuit against ATTRAKT using the fierce trial process.
Previously, the Seoul Central District Court suggested a more amicable resolution for the ongoing lawsuit. By going through the mediation process, the court wished both sides could reach a mutual agreement, especially when ATTRAKT declared they would still support the members should they decide to return.
Unfortunately, the mediation process appears to have been a significant failure.
Then, multiple Korean media outlets (Newsen, OSEN, SPOTV, and TV Daily) reported on August 16 that members of “Cupid” singer FIFTY FIFTY had eventually refused the mediation. Apparently, they had no intention of discussing and coordinating with ATTRAKT during mediation and ultimately chose to proceed to trial.
Details on FIFTY FIFTY Members and ATTRAKT Lawsuit Update
In the previous report, members of FIFTY FIFTY and ATTRAKT had gone through the first stage of the mediation process.
In the first mediation on August 9, both sides gathered in a private meeting regarding the contract lawsuit. At the time, mothers of FIFTY FIFTY members Aran and Saena met with ATTRAKT management representatives, along with their designated lawyers. They had spent 2 hours in the mediation process but still couldn’t reach an agreement.
Since the first mediation process failed, the Seoul court suggested FIFTY FIFTY and ATTRAKT to have another mediation session on August 16. However, on the day of mediation, FIFTY FIFTY members submitted a written statement to the 50th Civil Settlement Division (Chief Judge Park Bum-seok) of the Seoul Central District Court. In the statement, the members declared their unwillingness to mediate with ATTRAKT. The “Cupid” Kpop group FIFTY FIFTY submitted the information through their legal representative.
Therefore, the failed mediation means the lawsuit between FIFTY FIFTY and ATTRAKT will continue with a trial process.
On the same day, ATTRAKT revealed to Newsen that the mediation between the two sides had failed indeed. FIFTY FIFTY’s side had contacted the court and refused to continue the mediation.
“The mediation process with FIFTY FIFTY scheduled today had failed. We understand that FIFTY FIFTY’s lawyer had submitted a written statement to the court. The statement conveyed that they have no intention of reaching an agreement or conciliation.
At the same time, we have yet to receive any contact from FIFTY FIFTY. So if the mediation fails, the court will decide whether we should take compulsory mediation or continue the trial process.
As of today, no decision has been made.”
ATTRAKT’s official.
Will the “Cupid” Singer Eventually Disband?
Throughout several lawsuit updates, the “Cupid” Kpop group seemed to have no intention of making a peaceful resolution with ATTRAKT. Even after knowing the fact that CEO Ahn Sung Il of The Giver—the one who supposedly incited the whole dispute—had proven to have scammed them with his overrated and fraudulent past, the supposed Kpop dark horse remains firm in their decision to sue their agency, ATTRAKT.
Meanwhile, ATTRAKT has repeatedly declared its intention to support FIFTY FIFTY. The company stated that they would gladly welcome the group with open hands should FIFTY FIFTY members decide to return.
Still, public opinion appears to be divided between supporting the ATTRAKT CEO and the Kpop group members. While the Korean community had been full of criticisms of how the group had betrayed the company, international fans flooded social media platform The X (formerly Twitter) with calls to boycott the group’s first official album. That is because FIFTY FIFTY members won’t receive a portion of the album’s profits due to the ongoing lawsuit.

FIFTY FIFTY on the Verge of Disband with No Future
Still, boycotting their album means FIFTY FIFTY has lost its crucial time of reaching the vital checkpoints in the industry. It includes first day, first week, and achieving 1 million album sales.
With the ongoing boycott, the group’s lengthy hiatus, and losing the copyright trademark of its official name, does it mean FIFTY FIFTY will eventually disband with no future?
