Filipino BTS ARMY Adopt 8 Whales for BTS 8th Anniversary Celebration

BTS fans worldwide have planned many special events to celebrate the upcoming debut anniversary of BTS on June 13, 2021. One of them comes from the Philippines, where several Filipino ARMY from different fan bases has unique and SEA-nsational action to adopt eight humpback whales to celebrate BTS 8th Anniversary with “Whalien is Finally Heard” project.

Filipino ARMY “Whalien is Finally Heard” project aims to celebrate the 8th Anniversary of BTS.

Different BTS fanbases in the Philippines adopted 8 WHALES under the names of BTS members and ARMY.

Several Filipino ARMY joined together to celebrate the 8th Anniversary of BTS by conducting a “Whalien is Finally Heard” project. They adopt eight humpback whales from the Babuyan Marine Corridor through Balyena.org.

Established in 2009, Balyena is a non-profit organization based in the Philippines that focuses on dolphin and whale research. For P2,500, a whale can be adopted and named for a year through Balyena.org’s whale adoption program. The organization received a P20,000 donation from the Filipino ARMY, which will help the organization continue its research on whales and dolphins in the country.

Further, seven adopted whales were named after BTS members, while the eighth was named after the BTS ARMY.

A project inspired by BTS’s song “Whalien 52.”

The project was inspired by the BTS’s song “Whalien 52,” which is about the world’s loneliest whale. The 52-Hertz whale is said to sing at a frequency substantially higher than any other whale species of 10-40Hz.

The song was written as a metaphor for those who grew up feeling alone, alienated, and as if they were never heard or understood. Moreover, the song was included in the group’s album “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2,” released in 2015.

Moreover, Whalein appeared in BTS’s song “We Are Bulletproof: the Eternal” MV and “Dream On” MV.

Many fans compare it to the beginnings of BTS that debuted on June 13, 2013, where many underestimated their music as they debuted under a small label named Big Hit Entertainment, now HYBE Corporation. However, although they were considered an underdog K-Pop group, they worked very hard to get their voices heard in the music industry.

Now they’ve proved that their efforts were fruitful as they have survived to stay in the music industry for eight years since their debut. They also have been singing and creating lots of inspiring songs that people loved and have received countless awards.

BTS hits No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 with single “Butter.”

Recently, BTS’s new single “Butter” hits #1 Billboard Hot 100, and this marking them as the only group that hits multiple #1 debuts for the fourth time.
