Netflix “Squid Game” director is a true maestro in teasing his fans! Little by little, the director is giving the fans thrilling pieces and glimpses of his masterpiece, making them all excited and looking forward to it even more!
Previously, Director Hwang Dong Hyung has officially confirmed that there would really be a Season 2 for the astounding Netflix original, “Squid Game”. Today, he has finally revealed what will happen in the core plotline of “Squid Game” Season 2.
Seong Gi Hun Will Expose EVERYTHING About the Organization
In a KBS interview on December 28, Netflix “Squid Game” Director Hwang Dong Hyuk revealed that the core plotline for Season 2 would revolve around the main character, Seong Gi Hun.
According to the director, “Squid Game” main character, Seong Gi Hun (played by Lee Jung Jae), will expose everything about the organization behind the game. The core plotline of “Squid Game” upcoming Season 2 will be about the people Seong Gi Hun encounters and pursues.
“Season 2 will focus on the story of Seong Gi Hun on his journey to unravel everything. The comprehensive plotline of Season 2 will be about the story of those whom Gi Hun meets and the ones he chases after.”

Possible Season 3 for Netflix “Squid Game”
Along with the revelation of the Season 2 plotline, director Hwang Dong Hyuk also gave another surprise for “Squid Game” fans: a possible season 3.
During the interview, Director Hwang Dong Hyuk also stated that he was still discussing “Squid Game” Season 2 and Season 3 with Netflix, as well as its plotline. And they would be concluding very soon.
“I am currently in the middle of discussions about Season 2 and Season 3 [of “Squid Game] with Netflix. And I think we’ll soon be reaching some conclusions.”

Official Statement from Netflix for “Squid Game” Season 2 and Season 3
Immediately after director Hwang Dong Hyuk revealed the core plotline of “Squid Game” Season 2 and its possible Season 3, Netflix gave their official statement.
According to Netflix, they’re indeed in the middle of various discussions about “Squid Game”, including its Season 2 possibility. However, as of today, they have yet determined anything.
“It is true that we’re currently discussing various possibilities for “Squid Game”, including the production of a Season 3. But nothing has been determined just yet.”
