According to an exclusive report by Sports Chosun on September 26, talented singer and actor Park Jinyoung will take on the lead role in an enticing new romance drama, “Unknown Seoul,” following his discharge from military service in November.
In response to the casting news, Park Jinyoung’s agency, BH Entertainment, confirmed the news and stated,
“Park Jinyoung has been offered to star in “Unknown Seoul” and is positively considering it.”

The upcoming Korean romance drama “Unknown Seoul” revolves around two identical twin sisters. One of the twins excels academically and lives in Seoul. Meanwhile, the other stays in the countryside. Despite their distinct appearances, they decide to exchange lives through a series of lies. Their goal is to find true love and discover deeper meaning in life.
As previously reported, Park Bo Young is in talks to portray the female lead. Furthermore, her casting news has generated significant buzz. In particular, Park Bo Young, who won Best Actress at the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards for her outstanding performance in “Daily Dose of Sunshine,” is expected to embody both twin roles in the series.
In the highly anticipated upcoming drama, “Unknown Seoul,” Jinyoung will be taking on the male lead role alongside the talented Park Bo Young. He will portray the male lead, Ho Su, who has been in a relationship with one of the twins, Mi Ji, since their school days. The close involvement between the characters has raised anticipation for the chemistry between Jinyoung and Park Bo Young.

Park Jinyoung made his acting debut in “Dream High 2” in 2012. He then started his music career as an idol with his group GOT7 in 2014. The talented actor and singer has starred in various dramas and movies. Some of his famous works are “Yaksha: Ruthless Operations,” “A Christmas Carol,” “Dream Knight,” “He Is Psychometric,” “When My Love Blooms,” “The Devil Judge,” and “Yumi’s Cells.”
Park Jinyoung, who enlisted in the military in May last year and is currently serving as an active soldier, is expected to be discharged in early November. Therefore “Unknown Seoul” will be Jinyoung’s comeback drama since his last romance drama, “Yumi’s Cells Season 2” in 2022. In addition, this upcoming project will be his first collaboration with director Park Shin Woo and writer Lee Kang.
Director Shin Woo is known for his works on “Encounter,” “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” and “Lovestruck in the City.”Meanwhile, writer Lee Kang is known for his drama “Young of May.”
