And not only that, Ha Ji Won will possibly make her acting comeback in a huge project with Kang Ha Neul and Youn Yuh Jung new Korean drama, “Curtain Call”, replacing Son Ye Jin.

On April 22, Korean media reported that actress Ha Ji Won would soon join actors Kang Ha Neul and Youn Yuh Jung in a new Korean drama, “Curtain Call”. A few days after the report, Ha Ji Won’s representative confirmed on April 25 that the actress would indeed take the role in the drama, which was previously offered to Son Ye Jin.

What is the Drama About?

Previously known as “The Tree Dies Standing”, “Curtain Call” tells the story of a local theater actor whose life will completely change due to a strange offer from a man asking him to play the North Korean defector grandson of an old woman.

Actor Kang Ha Neul will take the role of Yoo Jae Heon, a small fry actor for the local theater troupe who comes from a humble background. Despite his circumstances, Yoo Jae Heon lives his life with one principle: “Do what you want to do.” With high self-esteem, the actor faces everything with an optimistic and bright personality.

One day, Yoo Jae Heon’s life will completely change after a man approaches him and ask him to become the pretend grandson of an old woman.

Youn Yuh Jung as the Wealthy Hotel Founder

Oscar-winning actress Youn Yuh Jung will star as the old woman, Ja Geum Soon, whose grandson Yoo Jae Heon was offered the role.

Born in 1930, Ja Geum Soon escaped to South Korea during the war period. At the time, she was separated from her husband and child. Ja Geum Soon spent years waiting for her family while establishing a leading hotel chain in South Korea, Hotel Paradise (Nakwon).

Years have passed, and Ja Geum Soon has become an elderly woman who doesn’t have much time to live. That is why Yoo Jae Heon was asked to become her grandson in order to fulfill her final wish.

Hyun Bin’s newlywed wife, Son Ye Jin, was previously offered the role, but apparently, she has declined. Therefore, Ha Ji Won came to the rescue to replace her.
