On September 6, the YouTube channel “KOREA NOW,” an official English YouTube channel of South Korean media outlet, Yonhap News Agency, released the top 10 best and most popular Kpop boy groups of all time. This ranking considered sales, tours, ability, awards won, longevity, and talent. So, let’s check it out!

10. SEVENTEEN
Under Pledis Entertainment, the K-pop boy group with 13-members made their debut in 2015. SEVENTEEN is unique as they already have three sub-units upon debut: the Hip-Hop Unit, the Vocal Unit, and the Performance Unit. In addition, since all members have taken part in the group’s creative process, they are dubbed as “Producer-dols.”
9. MONSTA X
MONSTA X was formed through the survival program “No.Mercy,” produced by Starship Entertainment. Since their debut in 2015, they have earned nominations for several domestic and international awards and gained more popularity on the international stage. In addition, with their Japanese single “Spotlight,” the group gained high popularity in Japan.
8. NCT
NCT (Neo Culture Technology) is a boy group under SM Entertainment. Debuted in 2016, they have become one of the famous and most influential boy groups in K-pop. As of early 2021, the group is consists of 23 members with numerous sub-units. With their highest-selling in physical albums, NCT has proved their power and influence in the Kpop industry.
7. 2PM
Debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2008, 2PM has become one of the famous boy groups in the 2nd generation of Kpop. Their Japanese debut in 2011 also added to their achievement. Since their debut, 2PM has had a unique concept of a masculine and wild image with powerful music. 6. TVXQ! / DBSK
TVXQ! or also known as DBSK, first debuted with five members. They gained massive success in 2008 following the release of “Mirotic.” However, after the lawsuit and the departure of members Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu against SM Entertainment in 2011, the group has become a duo consisting of Yunho and Changmin. Despite many difficulties, TVXQ still give influences the Kpop industry until right now.
5. SHINee
In 2008, the five-member group debuted under SM Entertainment. Besides their hit song, they are also famous for their unique styles. They were known for their highly synchronized and challenging choreography. After Jong Hyun passed away, other SHINee members remained together and continuously released many high-quality songs.
4. SUPER JUNIOR
Earlier, SM Entertainment created Super Junior as a project Kpop group. The agency selected the members based on their experiences in various fields, such as MCs, actors, models, and radio DJs. The Kpop boy group debuted in 2005 with 13 members.
During the 2nd generation of KPOP, Super Junior not only earned a name for themselves with many successful songs, but they also contributed to the global expansion of the Korean Wave.
As of 2021, they still have nine active members. With the skill that each member has, the members of Super Junior have brilliant careers outside of their group.
3. EXO
In 2021, Kpop boy group EXO debuted under SM Entertainment. They have two units: EXO-K (in Korea) and EXO-M (in China). Their popular hit song “Growl” opened the door to KPOP’s 3rd generation. EXO’s album sales continued to soar after that, and the group became well known throughout Asia. EXO returns almost every year and has been one of KPOP’s most popular idol groups.
2. BIGBANG
KPop boy group BIGBANG debuted under YG Entertainment in 2006. They are not only famous domestically but also internationally. The group has released many hit songs and won several awards. In addition, they are recognized for introducing K-pop on the global map. Although they are no longer active in music, their fans and KPOP fans all over the world still admire and praise the members of BIG BANG.

Debuted in 2013, they started from humble beginnings under a small label named Big Hit Entertainment.
