BLINK, you may have heard that BLACKPINK will no longer accept any gift, but is that true? Unfortunately, the answer is yes. However, while it is true that YG Entertainment has announced that BLACKPINK will not accept gifts from fans anymore, it is NOT without reason.
YG Entertainment Announced BLACKPINK Will NOT Accept Gifts from Fans
On October 12, YG Entertainment announced that their leading girl group, BLACKPINK, will not accept any gifts from their fans anymore. They will only accept fan letters for the members.
Furthermore, the announcement was posted on Weverse and YG Entertainment’s official website by BLACKPINK support manager. According to the announcement, they created the policy after receiving massive congratulations during the fifth anniversary.
“We will respectfully no longer be accepting any fan support or mailed gifts that fans prepare to celebrate BLACKPINK’s special occasions. These occasions include anniversaries (the group’s debut anniversary, solo debut anniversaries, or birthdays), broadcasts (music shows, radio shows, or variety shows), or concerts (snacks, celebratory wreaths).”

Why does BLACKPINK NOT accept gifts from fans?
While it may be true that BLINK fans will not be able to send any gifts to their beloved BLACKPINK members, it is NOT without reason. According to the announcement, the group implemented the policy because they wanted their fans to use the gifts and funds for those who needed it more.
“We would be grateful if you would give the gifts and fan support you prepare to convey your love and celebrate these special days to places where they are more needed.”

The No-Gift Policy Came from BLACKPINK Members
Furthermore, indeed some fans may think that it was YG Entertainment company who made the policy. After all the same thing applies to other groups like TREASURE. However, it was actually BLACKPINK members who made the decision themselves.
“After the BLACKPINK members carefully debated for a long time over the issue of the fan support and gifts that their fans have poured their hearts into preparing all these years, we are making this difficult announcement.”

What happens if fans insist on sending BLACKPINK members gifts?
Moreover, YG Entertainment also stated that should some fans insisted on sending gifts for BLACKPINK members, they will either return or discard the gifts.
“Aside from fan letters, please keep in mind that any mailed gifts or delivered packages will be either returned or thrown away. We ask for fans’ cooperation and understanding.”

When will the BLACKPINK No-Gift policy apply?
And finally, this no-gift policy will as soon as the announcement published, or October 12, 2021. Therefore, both YG Entertainment and BLACKPINK hope that fans will be able to understand and cooperate accordingly.
“We will be implementing this policy as of October 12, 2021.
Thanks to the support of their fans, BLACKPINK will continue to pursue an even wider variety of activities in the future, and they will work hard to become even more fabulous artists. Therefore, please continue to give them lots of interest and love.
Thank you.”

BLINK Fans Feel Touched and Send Supports
Regarding the announcement, BLINK fans are incredibly supportive, and they feel touched that BLACKPINK members are actually being considerate by making such a policy.
So it was BLACKPINK as a group decision that decided to not accept gift anymore ? They said they wanted us to use the money in more important causes and to those who needed it.
