Director Na Hong Jin will return with a grand film project titled Hope. It is an upcoming Korean sci-fi thriller movie starring Hwang Jung Min, Jo In Sung, Jung Ho Yeon, Michael Fassbender, and Alicia Vikander.

Renowned director Na Hong Jin will return after his last hit movie in 2016, The Wailing. Director Na Hong Jin will helm the upcoming Korean movie Hope (tentative title).
According to an exclusive report by edaily news media, Plus M Entertainment has signed an agreement with director Na Hong Jin and his production company Forged Film to create the thriller movie.
This movie mark director Na Hon Jin’s grand comeback. Besides the star-studded cast, he will work with the famous and talented cinematographer Hong Kyung Pyo. His famous works are Parasite and Burning. In addition, the upcoming movie marks a reunion between Hong Kyung Pyo and director Na Hong Jin after The Wailing.
Star-studded Cast Lineup
Actors Hwang Jung Min and Jo In Sung, who were approached to join the project, have decided to participate in the director’s upcoming film. For Hwang Jung Min, it will be his second time working with director Na Hong Jin after The Wailing. Meanwhile, it will be Jo In Sung’s first time working with the director.
Moreover, Jung Ho Yeon of Squid Game is also joining the project. It will mark her debut in Korean film after her first play in the Korean drama series Squid Game. After the hit drama, the model-turned-actress has worked on two Hollywood projects, Disclaimer and The Governess. It was reported that the actress will play a policewoman.
Furthermore, Hollywood couple, Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander, who were impressed by director Na Hong Jin’s previous work have also confirmed to join his film project. The movie will mark the couple’s second project together after The Light Between the Oceans.
HOPE Korean Movie
The Korean movie HOPE is set in a small town in Hopo Port. As the story unfolds, something unexpected and mysterious is discovered in the small town. Soon after the discovery, the people must fight to survive against something they have never encountered before.
According to a report from Deadline, regarding his newest movie, director Na Hong Jin said that often one’s good intentions can result in unintended disaster merely because of differences in point of view. He hopes this film can show this phenomenon in a way that has never been seen before.
The movie plans to start filming in South Korea and abroad in the second half of this year.
