On September 2, Korean media reported that HYBE had announced the venue change for BTS free global concert 2022 in Busan. Following the previous issues and controversies regarding the concert’s venue and regulations, the company finally decided to take action.

Through an official announcement, HYBE and BIGHIT MUSIC decided to step in and change the global concert 2022 venue from Ilgwang Special Stage to Busan Asiad Main Stadium. The company decided to make this change after various issues and concerns from fans regarding Ilgwang Special Stage and its current circumstances.

25,000 People Will Watch from the Auxiliary Stadium

Originally built for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, Busan Asiad Main Stadium has a capacity of 53,769 spectator seats. However, while it can hold up to 100,000 people in total, Busan has reduced the number of invitations to attend BTS 2022 free global concert from 100,000 to 50,000 people.

According to Korean media, 25,000 audiences would have to watch the performance from Busan auxiliary arena. That is because Busan must protect the condition of the field’s lawn and grass.

Therefore, attendees who cannot enter the main stadium can witness the performance via a large screen from the auxiliary stadium.

Indeed, HYBE and the Busan government may have decided to reduce the audience invitation to maintain the concert’s safety. However, fans can still enjoy BTS performances via a LIVE PLAY event. It is live streaming of the BTS global concert via the Outdoor Parking Lot of Busan Port International Passenger Terminal.

The Complete Issue and Controversy Regarding the Previous Venue

Previously, BTS free global concert 2022 to support World Expo 2030 Busan bidding process had triggered various issues and controversies.

Aside from the fact that the Ilgwang Special Stage location has extreme traffic even under normal circumstances, the venue itself is apparently underdeveloped.

So a long 9-hour wait with no food allowed inside has become a severe issue for the attendees.
