With all the public statements and a massive press conference following HYBE vs ADOR CEO Min Heejin dispute, some of us might have thought that a new era would emerge in Kpop after Min Heejin won her case. But, did she, really? Let’s discuss further what really happened in the finale of the HYBE vs ADOR Min Heejin dispute.
ADOR CEO Min Heejin Wins Injunction Against HYBE, Proudly Announcing Through Second Press Conference
Have you checked the latest updates on the dispute between HYBE vs ADOR CEO Min Heejin? Do you think Min Heejin really won the case, just as she said at her second press conference? While some fans may have celebrated—or mourned—the recent finale of the ADOR vs HYBE dispute, don’t be so quick just yet.
Today, we will briefly discuss the summary of the result and what it means for both sides of the party.
Last week, the Seoul Court ruled in favor of ADOR CEO Min Heejin. They granted Min Heejin’s request and blocked HYBE’s attempt to remove her from ADOR using voting rights. According to the Court, while CEO Min Heejin might have shown signs of an attempt to betray HYBE, she remains faithful to her own label, ADOR. Therefore, there was no justification for why she should be removed from the ADOR CEO position.
“HYBE hasn’t provided enough proof for why Min Heejin must resign or be dismissed. Even though HYBE might see her actions as a betrayal, it’s hard to say they really amount to a breach of trust with ADOR.”
Seoul Court.
Responding to this decision, HYBE decided to accept and cancel their attempt to remove Min Heejin from the ADOR CEO position.
“We respect the court’s decision on the provisional injunction lawsuit filed by CEO Min Heejin. Therefore, at the upcoming extraordinary shareholders’ meeting, we won’t be voting in favor of dismissing her.”

ADOR CEO Min Heejin Announces Her Win at Second Press Conference, Trying to End Dispute with HYBE
Immediately after the court ruled in favor of Min Heejin, the ADOR CEO held a press conference with a completely different tone from the previous one. She wore a bright yellow cardigan with brighter expressions on her face, announcing that she had finally won the HYBE vs ADOR dispute.
“Hello, I’m Min Heejin. This is the second time I’m sitting here with you all.
This time, thankfully, I’ve won over the court, and now I’m much more relieved.”

At the second press conference, CEO Min Heejin blatantly expresses her intention to amicably end the HYBE vs ADOR dispute.
“I really hope we can reach a compromise with HYBE.
Yes, we’re in a bit of a disagreement right now, but honestly, who benefits from all this back-and-forth? Aren’t you exhausted from all the criticism?
Let’s flip the script and focus on what’s best for our business vision. It would be great if we could set aside the emotional aspects and reconsider things.
I believe it’s the right thing to do, both for our business and on a personal level.”

With the statement from Min Heejin at the press conference, the public hopes this HYBE vs ADOR dispute will end soon. Not only this bad blood has negatively affected ADOR’s artist, NewJeans, but it also brings turmoil to other groups, including ILLIT and LE SSERAFIM, not to mention all the horrible impacts that resulted in more fan wars between all the fandoms.
HYBE Refuses to End Dispute with ADOR
Unfortunately, HYBE seems to have no intention to accept Min Heejin’s hands. During their first official statement, the company shared their infuriation about the fact that Min Heejin had indeed tried to betray HYBE.
While there may be no sufficient evidence, it is still a fact that Min Heejin is trying to remove HYBE’s influence from ADOR. Therefore, the company has no intention to end the dispute peacefully. Instead, they will take more legal action to fight Min Heejin.
“The court made it clear that Min Hee Jin had tried to reduce HYBE’s control over ADOR and aimed to manage ADOR independently either by removing NewJeans from HYBE’s control or pushing HYBE to sell its shares in ADOR.
With this in mind, our company plans to take the next steps, all within legal limits.
HYBE has no intention of compromising, and we will settle things through police investigations or lawsuits.”

As a follow-up to this statement, HYBE then officially dismissed 2 members of ADOR’s executives, Deputy CEO Shin and Director Kim. These directors were allegedly the closest supporters of ADOR CEO Min Heejin.
Then, the company replaced them with new directors: Chief Human Resources Officer Kim Ju Young, Chief Strategy Officer Lee Jae Seong, and Chief Financial Officer Lee Kyung Jun. It is now 3 HYBE directors vs CEO Min Heejin in the ADOR executive members.
Has Min Heejin REALLY Won the Dispute?
So, did ADOR CEO Min Heejin REALLY win the dispute with HYBE then?
The answer is no. Unfortunately, not.
While Min Heejin might have proudly announced her win at the second press conference, her win was only for the injunction. Not the entire dispute.
This means that she will remain the CEO of ADOR as long as her contract is still valid. HYBE will not be able to dismiss her from the CEO position because what she did was never a betrayal to ADOR. It was only a betrayal to HYBE.
However, in the long run, there’s no guarantee that Min Heejin will be able to retain her power, especially after HYBE fired 2 of her trusted supporters. While her position as NewJeans’ producer will remain unscathed, there’s no guarantee she can continue managing ADOR fully as the CEO.
Some fans have pointed out that it was why Min Heejin asked for reconciliation with HYBE. If this HYBE vs ADOR dispute continues legally, Min Heejin has too much to lose as both the CEO and NewJeans’ producer.
Still, it may be worth noting that during the previous trial, the Seoul court seemed to have shot every allegation HYBE made against ADOR CEO Min Heejin.
Reports have released the complete 20-page court verdict, and each statement in the verdict proved that HYBE was entirely in the wrong. Instead, it only drags down the company’s reputation, resulting in more distrust from the public.
