Amidst the glittering joy in celebrating the birth of their son and baby of the century with his wife Son Ye Jin, Hyun Bin must face unpleasant rumors about his career.
On December 2, Insight Korean media reported that Hyun Bin was under suspicion of being blacklisted by the Japanese entertainment industry. The original reports came from a Japanese company official in a statement to Newsen. The official claimed that since his recent movie casting confirmation, the Japanese entertainment market began treating him with unpleasantly.

What REALLY Happened: “Harbin” the Movie is the MAIN Cause
Further in the report, Insight stated that the cold and unpleasant treatments from the Japanese market started after the agency confirmed Hyun Bin role in the upcoming movie, “Harbin”.
According to the reports, once his role was confirmed Hyun Bin started losing enthusiasm from the Japanese market. All the Japanese companies who had initially fought for an opportunity to hold Hyun Bin’s fan meeting in Japan began changing their minds.

I suspect any actor portraying Korean independence during
Japanese occupation would be on a potential blacklist. This is just a ploy by Japan who does not want their war stories to be told in a negative light. However, one cannot change history…..
Although Japan is a strong ally to the US, and visa versa, the US
did drop two hydrogen bombs on two Japanese cities to end war in the Pacific. Regardless, the US helped rebuild Japan and Europe. I would suggest that Mr. Hyun bin not take this move
negatively…. Harbin is very well known and received not only in US, but, worldwide. Japan entertainment industry already knew
what film would be like. They should have vetoed the film if they did not want it to be filmed…. How do I say this delicately?
“Japan entertainment industry is just yanking their chain.” All countries occupied by Japan during the war have true events that happened. The Geneva Convention did not matter to Japan. The death march in The Philippines is just one example. A good read during war in Japan is called Flags of our Fathers. Another is The Rape of Nanking by Iris Chang,, and Dragon Seed by Pearl S Buck. So, Mr. Hyun bin ignore the hype by Japanese entertainment media…. Harbin is a story worth telling. The film already has exceeded wonderful reviews by the world.
Thank you
