Mnet is gearing up to launch “I-LAND 2” Kpop global audition in 2023, collaborating with renowned producer Teddy from THEBLACKLABEL, a YG Entertainment subsidiary.
“I-LAND 2” Global Audition 2023: Mnet Collaborates with YG’s Teddy and THEBLACKLABEL
Kpop survival show “I-LAND” is a captivating observational reality show that takes audiences on a journey through the creative process of creating the next generation of Kpop artists.
The first season of “I-LAND” aired on Mnet from June to September 2020. The Kpop survival show produced the sensational seven-member boy group ENHYPEN. The creation of ENHYPEN happened through a collaboration with HYBE and its founder, Bang Si Hyuk.
This successful collaboration led to the establishment of ENHYPEN’s agency, BELIFT LAB, as a promising joint venture between Mnet’s parent company, CJ ENM, and HYBE.
Fans eagerly anticipated “I-LAND 2,” hoping that BELIFT LAB would introduce their first girl group. However, earlier this year, BELIFT LAB surprised everyone by launching a separate survival show, “R U Next?” at JTBC, which will determine the lineup for their new girl group. Nevertheless, Mnet will still hold a global audition for “I-LAND 2” by teaming up with a new partner, THEBLACKLABEL.
The Exciting Collaboration with Teddy Park and THEBLACKLABEL
On July 24, Mnet made an exciting announcement regarding the highly anticipated “I-LAND 2” Kpop global audition. They revealed that the show would partner with esteemed producer Teddy and his agency, THEBLACKLABEL, which is renowned for its exceptional work with various artists, including BLACKPINK. Notably, THEBLACKLABEL is a subsidiary of YG Entertainment. Additionally, the upcoming new girl group formed in “I-LAND 2” will be promoted under CJ ENM’s label, WAKEONE.
