The International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has unveiled the highly-anticipated 2023 International Emmy Awards nominees list. Two beloved Korean dramas, “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” and “Reborn Rich,” have each secured nominations in different categories for the International Emmy Awards 2023. 2023 International Emmy Awards Nominations: “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” and “Reborn Rich” Nominated in Different Categories
The International Emmy Awards honors outstanding television shows produced outside the US, celebrating its 51st year this year. Organized by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (IATAS), it ranks among the world’s top three television awards, alongside Canada’s Banff TV Festival and Monaco’s Monte-Carlo TV Festival.
On September 26, the International Emmy Awards announced its final nominees. This year’s Emmy Awards nominations showcase remarkable talent and diversity, featuring nominees from 20 countries spanning 14 categories. Notably, two Korean dramas, ENA’s “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” and VIU’s “Reborn Rich,” have earned coveted spots on the list.
“Extraordinary Attorney Woo” Nominated in Drama Series Category
ENA’s “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” produced by Astory and KT Studio Genie, has been nominated as one of the Best Drama Series category nominees. Previously, actress Park Eun Bin’s renowned historical Korean drama, “The King’s Affection (Yeonmo),” won the Best Telenovela award at the 2022 International Emmy Awards. This remarkable achievement marked a significant milestone as the first time a Korean drama received such prestigious recognition on a global scale. Consequently, this latest nomination signifies Park Eun Bin’s second Korean drama to earn an International Emmy nomination.
In addition, the drama category also included nominations for the Argentine drama “Iosi, El Espia Arrepentido,” the British drama “The Devil’s Hour,” and the German Netflix drama “The Empress.”
“Reborn Rich” Nominated in TV Movie/Mini-Series Category
SLL’s VIU drama “Reborn Rich” has secured a nomination in the TV movie and mini-series category. The Korean drama series will compete against other notable productions in this category, including the French drama “Infiniti,” the Mexican drama “La Caida,” and the British drama “Life and Death in the Warehouse.”
