Director & Writer Statements

In an in-depth interview about Dr Romantic Season 3, SBS asked director Yoo In Sik and writer Kang Eun Kyung for Season 4 possibility and its release date.

During the interview, writer Kang Eun Kyung revealed that every season of Dr Romantic is an extensive project that requires a lot of thought and hard work. And there was no way for the writer to think about an upcoming season while working on the current ones.

Therefore, writer Kang Eun Kyung still has no idea whether Dr Romantic Season 4 will be truly possible. But the brilliant writer still asks that viewers remain positive about the possibility.

“Regarding Season 4, I have been receiving the same questions since Season 1. In fact, when season 1 ended, I didn’t know I would write Season 2. And I was only thinking about whether I could work on Season 3 when I finished Season 2.
So now, I’m still thinking, ‘Is Season 4 really possible?’.

In an exclusive interview with E-Daily, Kim Min Jae conveyed his wish to continue his appearance in the series. After all, Dr Romantic has a special meaning deeply rooted in his heart. Therefore, it is his dream to continue working and making appearances on its every season.

However, Kim Min Jae revealed that since he appeared only in a supporting role in the series, there might be situations where he must give up other works that provide better opportunities for him. And that was why appearing in the series was a difficult decision.

“I want to appear in Season 4. ‘Dr Romantic’ means a lot to me, and I have always wanted to. All the actors also wish to do the same thing.
Still, honestly, appearing in Season 2 was a difficult decision for me. It was also the same with Season 3. Some people also thought the same so they dissuaded me.
But I figure that we will just know when we get there.
After all, during Season 1, I didn’t know we would produce Season 2. And the same thing happened in Season 2; I didn’t know that Season 3 would happen.”
