Kpop Event ISAC Returns with New Schedule and Sports in 2024
The infamous Kpop sports championship event ISAC will reportedly make a surprising return in 2024.
On June 20, Korean media outlet E-Daily reported that MBC had confirmed the comeback of this Kpop x Sports crossover event. According to the reports, the company will be hosting ISAC to celebrate Chuseok holiday this year. And they will be holding the recording session approximately in August.

MBC’s Representative.
Not only the Kpop event is making a sensational return in 2024, ISAC will also feature new sports in its upcoming schedule.
Following the 2024 comeback announcement of ISAC, rumors began circulating that the infamous Kpop event would also feature new sports in the schedule: futsal, team relay race, and golf. Apparently, it immediately triggered explosive responses from fans.
An Immediate Controversy – What Happened?
It has only been a few hours since the announcement officially hit the news and Idol Star Athletics Championships (ISAC) 2024 already faced strong criticism from Kpop fans.
A post in Korean online community TheQoo went viral with new controversy regarding new sports in the 2024 ISAC Kpop event: golf. The post features complete reasons why golf should not be included in the Kpop idol championship, and they all gain massive support from the community.
- People might get sunburned or tanned.
- Golf sometimes gets a bad rap for harming the environment.
- It’s a bit nerve-wracking thinking about the new friendships that might form, especially with business people and attention-seekers, which can be scarier than female fans. Plus, there’s the worry that idols might get the itch to start their own businesses.
- Golf isn’t the best when it comes to exercise.
- Once you start playing, it can eat up more than half your day, leaving rookie idols with little time to practice.
- There’s a chance of ending up at some entertainment venue.
- Caddies might spread weird rumors about the idols.
Not only that, but fans also believe that by having golf as new sports in 2024 ISAC, idols would have to interact with businessmen and club CEOs. And this will possibly ruin the image of the Kpop groups.
In general, ISAC’s new sports only trigger more controversy. The return of the event itself has already been shocking to the Kpop community. But what about you? What do you think about ISAC returning in 2024? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
