IU recently concluded her two-day H.E.R.E.H world tour in Jakarta on April 27 and 28. Thousands of UAENA (IU’s fans) from across Indonesia attended the concert that took place at the ICE BSD. The idol-actress was amazed by the energy from UAENA in Jakarta and gave them a new nickname.
IU’s Concert in Jakarta Was Exceptionally Energetic
UAENA in Indonesia excitedly welcomed IU back after her first concert in 2019. The fandom in Indonesia, represented by “IU Indonesia” community, prepared several fan projects for the idol-actress, like organized hand banners and sing-a-long projects. This shows how UAENA in Indonesia sincerely loves Lee Ji-eun (IU’s real name).
Additionally, UAENA, who attended the concert on day 1 or day 2, prepared freebies for other UAENA. This is a kind of “tradition” created by the artists in Kpop industry, and followed by their fans.
This time, IU brings card books and keychains to Jakarta as free merchandise for all audiences. At the beginning of the concert, IU told UAENA, “Have you all received these? They are from my mom.”
And jokingly, some UAENA shouted, “Gamsahamnida, Eomma!” which IU responded with a sweet giggle.
During the concert, IU mesmerized the audience not only with her voice but also her looks. The concert was meticulously prepared, from the song order, music, dancers, and IU’s outfits. IU’s live vocals are stable from the beginning to the end, and she interacted sincerely with the audience, which was absolutely loved! That’s why UAENA calls IU beyond a singer; she is a performer!
The Dragons Belong to IU
On April 27, IU kicked off her H.E.R.E.H concert in Jakarta, setting the stage alight with excitement. UAENA gathered at ICE BSD in the early morning. By 10:00 AM, when the merchandise booth opened its doors, a long queue of eager UAENA had already formed, all ready to get their hands on the official concert merchandise.
Formerly known as JAKAENA, IU’s Jakarta fans have now earned a new nickname! On the concert’s first day, IU was captivated by JAKAENA’s vibrant energy. From the opening to the final song, everyone sang and screamed with all their might, even in the calm songs like “Through The Night” and “Above The Time.”
“This is the loudest I’ve ever heard UAENA sing ‘Through The Night’ and ‘Above The Time’,”
IU.

After one hour had passed, IU was still amazed by the fact that UAENA fans were still enthusiastic about singing along. She then thought of giving them a new nickname. Previously, during IU’s concert in Jakarta, she referred to UAENA fans in Indonesia as JAKAENA. Now, IU has given them a new nickname: Dragons.
“You all are like dragons!” she exclaimed, referring to the powerful fantasy creature. IU chose to call the fans Dragons because of their endless and tireless energy throughout the concert, just like a mighty dragon ready to ignite the entire hall with their spirit.
Record-Breaking Enthusiasm in Jakarta
The next day, IU posted the picture of Jakarta sky to her Instagram story and wrote, “The weather is nice. Let’s do well today, dragons.”
On the second day, the enthusiasm among the ‘dragons’—as IU now calls her fans—reached new heights. IU was pleasantly surprised as UAENA attendees spontaneously sang along to every song, beginning with the opening number, “Holssi.”
“In my 16 or 17 years as a singer, performances like this are rare, happening just once every six or seven years. I will never forget my performance in Jakarta,”
IU.
Remarkably, UAENA’s cheers on the second day surpassed even the first day’s enthusiasm. They did sing a long with IU in every song loudly, which surprised the singer. Therefore, IU playfully remarked that next time she performs in Jakarta, she’d like to ‘ride a dragon’ during her show.
Even after the encore, enthusiastic UAENA fans called for IU to return for one more song, “Someday.” Consequently, the concert lasted three hours, brimming with energy and passion.
