New Year, NEW LABEL! Jay Park Will be Launching New Kpop Idol Group
New year, a new era for brilliant Kpop artist and entrepreneur Jay Park! After stepping down from his CEO position of AOMG and H1GHR MUSIC, Jay Park surprised everyone by removing his Instagram account as if he was hinting his break/retirement.
However, apparently, it was all just a prologue for a new year, a new era, and—possibly—a new company!
On January 11, various media reported that Jay Park was working on his own label and agency with an objective of launching new Kpop idol group in the near future. With his long list of talents and achievements, the Korean entertainment industry expects that he will be able to create an idol group that is one of a kind, entirely different from the rest.
Jay Park to Possibly Partner with Kakao and Establish Another Entertainment Company
Furthermore, the most exciting part of this new Jay Park era is that there’s a high chance that Jay Park will partner with Kakao. After all, media reports also revealed that Kakao Entertainment would possibly be making a LARGE investment for Jay Park new Kpop idol group agency.
Regarding this issue, Kakao Entertainment responded and stated that they couldn’t make any promises yet. However, Kakao admitted that they had indeed been discussing about forming a partnership.
“Jay Park is an artist who is talented in numerous fields, including singing, producing and many more.
Kakao Entertainment is currently seeking to diversify its business in the music distribution market through numerous partnership opportunities. So, we are indeed discussing a form of business partnership with Jay Park.

Jay Park New Era: New Agency & New Kpop Idol Groups
The brilliant artist and entrepreneur Jay Park began his career by debuting in the prominent 2nd gen Kpop group 2PM as leader Park Jaebum. However, due to a major incident that turned out to be a mistranslation issue in 2009, Jay Park left JYP Entertainment and returned to America. Then, JYP Entertainment terminated his contract in 2010.
Today, Park Jaebum has risen to be one of the greatest artists and businessmen in the Kpop industry. And with his iconic style and talents, especially in hip-hop and R&B, industry experts are predicting and expecting that Jay Park will be able to create a new wave of Kpop idol groups with his signatures.
Will Jay Park Surpass JYP (Park Jin Young)?
And who knows? One day soon, he will surpass his former mentor, Park Jin Young of JYP Entertainment.
“Just like how JYP Park Jin Young successfully [formed] numerous idol groups with his colors, Jay Park will be able to bring a fresh wave to the music industry by producing idols with his own style.”
