JTBC Reportedly Released False CCTV Video of BTS Suga – What Happened?
The genius rapper-producer of BTS, Suga—birth name Min Yoongi—is currently under investigation for the DUI drunk driving incident involving an electric scooter.
Previously, BTS Suga had to face severe backlash and criticism not only due to his irresponsible act, but also because he was allegedly lying about the details of his DUI case in his apology statement. And it was all because of the initial release of the CCTV video footage of BTS Suga by JTBC News.
Apparently, the CCTV video footage has been proven false.
On August 14, Korean media outlet Donga Ilbo revealed another CCTV video footage of the day when BTS Suga DUI scooter case occurred. With this new video, Donga Ilbo also claimed that the previous CCTV footage from JTBC News was reportedly incorrect.
According to Donga, the individual seen in the widely circulated video footage of a person riding an electric scooter on a road is not Suga. The scooter in the earlier footage was seen heading towards Namsan from across Nine One Hannam. In contrast, Suga was riding on the sidewalk towards Nine One Hannam, indicating a different route.
Not only that, but reports claiming that Suga crashed into a curb were also found to be false.
It means that, according to Donga, the two previous CCTV video releases from JTBC and Yonhap TV News were both NOT true.
As of today, the previous video footage has been made private.
New CCTV Video Footage of the DUI Incident – BIGHIT Music Confirmed
Donga Ilbo managed to obtain the authentic CCTV footage of BTS Suga DUI incident on August 14. According to this new video footage, BTS Suga was riding an electric scooter on a sidewalk at around 11 PM on August 6. On his way, he passed three police patrol officers on foot near Nine One Hannam in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
Then, as he attempted to make a sharp left turn inside the entrance of Nine One Hannam, he lost his balance and fell. Witnessing the accident, the police officers approached Suga, who was picking up his dislodged helmet.
It was during this time that they noticed signs of alcohol intoxication.
Therefore, the police then conducted a breathalyzer test. Unexpectedly, the test revealed that Suga’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.227%, a level sufficient to revoke his license.
Donga also reported that according to the police statement, BTS Suga had been drinking with acquaintances at a restaurant near Hannam Ogeori around 9 PM that evening. They then moved to a nearby private studio, where they continued drinking.
Afterward, at approximately 11 PM, BTS Suga left the studio and rode his personal electric scooter to head home to Nine One Hannam. The distance between these two places was about 500 meters.
Responding to the new CCTV video footage from Donga Ilbo, BIGHIT music reportedly confirmed to TV Daily that the man was indeed BTS Suga.

BTS Suga NEVER Lies in His Apology Statement – Here’s What REALLY Happened
Finally, with the latest authentic CCTV video footage, Korean media outlet My Daily reported that BTS Suga had never lied in his DUI apology statement.
In the video, BTS Suga was riding an electric kickboard with an undetachable seat and a maximum speed of 25km/h. According to the new authentic CCTV video, the vehicle resembled more of an electric kickboard with a saddle than a motorcycle-type electric scooter.
Next, the distance between the personal studio in which he had a drink and his Nine One Hannam apartment was approximately 500 meters, according to Donga. Hence, this detail in BTS Suga and BIGHIT Music’s DUI apology statement also checked out.
At last, the place where BTS Suga fell by himself was indeed in front of his apartment building at Nine One Hannam. This fact is also proven by the latest CCTV video footage by Donga Ilbo.
