According to an exclusive report from Sports Chosun, both stars have been courted to lead an upcoming drama titled Polaris (working title).
In response to the report, IEUM HASHTAG, Jun Ji Hyun’s agency stated that their actress received the offer and is still reviewing it.
“It’s true that she [Jun Ji Hyun] has received the role offer and is considering it positively.”

Meanwhile, as reported by JTBC, Kang Dong Won’s representative said that the offer is one of the proposals the actor has received. And the Broker star is currently reviewing it positively.
Polaris Korean drama is about spy melodrama. It follows the story of spies who lost their identities and went searching for their true selves.
The upcoming drama will be the most anticipated drama for K-drama fans. The drama will unite two top Korean stars and reunite top Korean creators.
Jun Ji Hyun’s Mother-in-Law Approved
Furthermore, as reported by OSEN, Jun Ji Hyun’s mother-in-law, designer Lee Jung Woo, was reportedly excited by the news that her daughter-in-law will work alongside actor Kang Dong Won.
She captured a recent article published by an entertainment media titled “The birth of an all-time union, Jun Ji-hyun X Kang Dong-won, and met with spy melodramas.” And then she posted the captured image on her SNS and adding “My favorite combination! Finally, …”.

She has also co-starred with famous actors like Lee Jung Jae, Kim Hye So, Kim So Hyun, Joo Ji Hoon, and Lee Min Ho. He made his first movie, Too Beautiful To Lie, with Kim Ha Neul in 2004. Since then, he has starred in many hit movies with famous actors like Song Kang Ho, Youn Yuh Jung, Song Hye Kyo, Lee Byung Hun, and many more.
Some of Kang Dong Won’s famous movies include Secret Reunion, My Palpitating Life, The Priest, A Violent Prosecutor, Master, Peninsula, and Broker.
The upcoming drama will be the stars’ first collaboration in a drama series. It will also mark Kang Dong Won’s grand comeback to the small screen since Magic in 2004. Meanwhile, it will be Jun Ji Hyun’s comeback drama after Jirisan in 2021.
