K-pop rookie idol groups NewJeans, FIFTY FIFTY, LE SSERAFIM, H1-KEY, and BOYNEXTDOOR have secured the top five positions. June 2023 Most Popular K-pop Rookie Idol Groups

The Korean Business Research Institute has collected 18,054,498 new idol group brand data from May 8, 2023, to June 8, 2023, in order to analyze the brand reputation of new idol groups. It indicates a decrease of 3.60 percent compared to the 18,729,404 brand data collected in May.

To determine the brand reputation rankings of the new idol groups, the institute conducted an assessment of the brand reputation index. This index was measured based on consumer participation, media coverage, communication patterns, and community engagement within the brand category analysis. The analysis included new idol groups comprising boy and girl groups, which debuted from 2022 to the current year.

As a result, NewJeans, FIFTY FIFTY, LE SSERAFIM, H1-KEY, and BOYNEXTDOOR dominated the top five Kpop rookie idol groups for June 2023.

Top 5 Most Popular K-pop Rookie Idol Groups

In June 2023, NewJeans, a K-pop rookie idol group consisting of Minji, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, and Hyein, claimed the top spot in brand reputation among new idol groups. Their brand participation index scored 609,364, and the media index reached 734,675.

Moreover, NewJeans achieved a communication index of 1,066,157 and a community index of 1,385,505. However, their brand reputation index in June was 3,795,700, marking an 11.16 percent decline compared to May’s 4,272,402.

It might be because of their scheduled comeback in July. According to the analysis conducted by the Korean Business Research Institute, the highest related terms for NewJeans in the link analysis were “breakthrough,” “sold out,” and “selected (TIME’s Next Generation Leaders)”. Additionally, in the keyword analysis, “Daniel,” “Coca-Cola,” and “Fan Meeting” emerged as the most popular words. Finally, the positive-negativity analysis revealed an impressive 83.05 percent positive rate.

Meanwhile, despite the disbandment issue, FIFTY FIFTY, rose to second position with a brand reputation index of 3,472,584, marking a significant 21.56 percent increase from May’s 2,856,729.

However, LE SSERAFIM dropped to third place this month, recording a brand reputation index of 2,723,057, representing a substantial 33.62 percent decrease from May’s 4,102,431.

In addition, H1-KEY remained in fourth place with a brand reputation index of 1,155,531, experiencing a 13.79 percent decrease from May’s 1,340,417. It has proven that they are too underrated since their debut in 2022.

Moreover, joining the top five, a newly added boy group, BOYNEXTDOOR, secured a brand reputation index of 902,105 in June.
