Hyun Bin and Jung Woo Sung Might Team Up for New Drama Series “Made In Korea”
On February 16, reports revealed Hyun Bin and Jung Woo Sung’s involvement in the upcoming Korean drama “Made in Korea” (working title).
Hive Media Corp confirmed Jung Woo Sung is joining the series, while VAST Entertainment hinted at Hyun Bin’s potential role:
“Hyun Bin has received an offer to star in the new Korean drama and is considering it positively. No final decision has been reached.”

As previously reported, the new drama will be the spin-off of the popular 2018 film “The Drug King,“ starred by famous Korean actors like Song Kang Ho, Jo Jung Suk, and Bae Doo Na. However, contrary to reports, Hive Media Corp clarified that “Made in Korea” is a new project, not a spin-off.
“Made in Korea’ is not a spin-off of “The Drug King.” It is entirely different work.”

The upcoming Korean drama “Made In Korea” will showcase key events from modern Korean history, highlighting the tumultuous 1970s era.
Director Woo Min Ho of “The Drug King” will take the megaphone on the upcoming drama series. In addition, Hive Media Corp will be in charge of the production.
Interestingly, as per the report, the drama boasts a 48 billion Korean won budget or over 35 million US dollars. Additionally, plans include releasing it on an online streaming platform and ongoing casting for leading and supporting roles. After finalizing the casting, production for the new drama series may start later this summer.
Jung Woo Sung, alongside a potential return by Hyun Bin, will bring star power to the intriguing narrative.

“Made In Korea” will be Jung Woo Sung’s new drama project following “Tell Me That You Love Me.” Apart from the romantic drama, he also featured in Korean movies like “A Man of Reason” and “12:12 Day.” Moreover, the report revealed that Jung Woo Sung will play the character of Jang Geon Young. He is a highly respected prosecutor known for his sharp instincts and unwavering determination.
Further, if Hyun Bin accepts the role, the upcoming drama could mark his return to the small screen. His last drama series was the hit Kdrama “Crash Landing on You” in 2019, with his co-star-turned-wife, Son Ye Jin. In addition, this project will also be the actor’s first drama series since marrying Ye Jin and becoming a parent.
Hyun Bin’s potential return to TV since “Crash Landing on You” adds excitement, possibly reuniting with director Woo Min Ho. Previously, they worked together on the movie “Harbin,” where actor Jung Wo Sung also had a special appearance, leading to an exciting reunion.
