But what really happened to Kang Daniel, and what exactly did he say? Check out the following details and complete reports.
Kang Daniel Under Fire for His SEXIST Comments about “Street Woman Fighter”
Young prominent CEO and idol actor, Kang Daniel, was recently under fire for his sexist comments about “Street Woman Fighter”.
On July 20, Kang Daniel had a conversation with his fans via UNIVERSE platform. During this time, fans asked him about how it felt to continue his role as the MC of “Street Man Fighter”.
However, his response brought huge disappointment to some fans. That is because he answered the questions with vague answers, leaning towards sexist comments that caused huge misunderstandings.
What REALLY Happened?
So, what really happened to Kang Daniel that fans caught his answers as “sexist”? Here’s the complete story.
Kang Daniel Used a Popular Sexist Term for Female
According to the media, during his UNIVERSE conversation, Kang Daniel talked about the difference between working on the male and female versions of the show. Kang Daniel stated that even though he was worried during the beginning of both shows, “Street Man Fighter” felt much more comfortable because he was working with male contestants.
Besides, Kang Daniel also stated that “Street Woman Fighter” was scarier, so he likes the present one better. He explained his situation by saying that he didn’t get his energy sucked on as he did in “Street Woman Fighter”.
“And to be honest, it was so comfortable because they were all men.
Kang Daniel.
I’m happy because my energy doesn’t get sucked out of me.
I was terrified in the beginning, actually. But Street Woman Fighter was scarier, and I like [what I’m doing] now more.”
The Artist Brushed Off and Blocked Fans Who Tried to Educate Him
Some fans took his answer wrong and believed Kang Daniel’s opinion was sexist because the term “energy-sucking” he used to describe his situation is actually relevant to the common female stereotypes used in South Korea. Most people use this term to patronize and point out that women use spiteful remarks intentionally to harm others’ feelings far more often than men.
However, when fans pointed that out, Kang Daniel ignored them and blocked some of the comments.
“They’re noonas who do their eyeliner and makeup fiercely too. [pause between messages]
Kang Daniel.
What do you mean I’m being sexist? I’m at a loss for words…
I’ll just skip through it. Blocking them, beep boop. Wheee goodbye!
Such people would be the ones who get angry when they attend stand-up comedy shows.
Just live comfortably. Life is already too hard.”
For His Sexist Comments on “Street Woman Fighter,” Kang Daniel Posted an Apology on Instagram

On the same day of the controversy, Kang Daniel took his apology on Instagram. He stated that he was trying to explain how he was extremely nervous and anxious while hosting the show. However, he admitted that he had overly exaggerated his feelings.
“Hello, this is Kang Daniel.
I wanted to apologize for the private message incident.
While trying to say that I was ‘nervous and anxious’ while hosting the show, I over-exaggerated those feelings and created an unnecessary misunderstanding, for which I am sorry. In addition, my response while trying to de-escalate the situation and avoid creating a sexist atmosphere was also mishandled.
I am apologetic for hurting the fans who may feel hurt with the incident. Moving forward, I will be more careful with my words and demeanor.”
