Kang Tae Oh to Headline the New Historical Drama Adaptation of Hit Series “Secret Garden”
On October 18, TenAsia exclusively reported that Kang Tae Oh was cast as the male lead for MBC’s new drama “The Moon Flows Over the River” (temporary title). The upcoming historical drama will be an adaptation of the hit series “Secret Garden” in 2010.

The original series of “Secret Garden,” starring Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won, follows the unique love story of Kim Joo Won and Gil Ra Im. Kim Joo Won is an arrogant and eccentric CEO, while Gil Ra Im is a humble stuntwoman whose beauty and body are the envy of top actresses.
Their first meeting happened when Kim Joo Won mistook Gil Ra Im for actress Park Chae Rin. Joo Won tries to hide a growing interest in Ra Im, which confuses and annoys him. This event marked the beginning of a tense and contentious relationship. Further, a series of strange events result in them switching bodies.
Kang Tae Oh Updates
Singer-actor Kang Tae Oh made his acting debut in “The Clinic for Married Couples: Love and War 2” in 2011. He landed his first lead role in the 2013 drama “After School: Lucky or Not.” Since then, he has starred in various dramas and movies.
After starring in “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” Kang Tae Oh’s popularity skyrocketed, becoming the most buzzworthy actor alongside Park Eun Bin. Amid his soaring popularity, Kang Tae Ho enlisted in military service in September 2022 and completed it in March 2024.
Shortly after his discharge, he received an offer to star in a new drama, “Potato Research Center.” This highly-anticipated rom-com drama marks his comeback project, where he will act alongside Lee Sun Bin.
Furthermore, “The Moon Flows Over the River” will be his next project after “Potato Research Center.” Set to air in 2025, it also marks his comeback to the historical drama scene after six years. His last historical drama was “The Tale of Nokdu” in 2019. In the series, he took the role of Prince Neungyang alongside Jang Dong Yoon and Kim So Hyun.
