Mnet survival show ‘Girls Planet 999’ Kpop girl group, Kep1er (케플러) is ready to make their debut with “First Impact.” However, due to being in close contact with a person with COVID-19 positive, Kep1er needs to postpone their debut date. And according to the schedule, Kep1er is one of the lineup artists to perform in the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA). What would happen then?
Kep1er should postpone their debut date
The Kpop girl group, Kep1er, initially set to debut on December 14 with their first mini-album, “First Impact.” But, unfortunately, Kep1er has to postpone the debut date.
On December 5, the agencies announced that a staff member who worked with the group tested positive for COVID-19. Therefore, the 9 members of Kep1er were preemptively tested for the virus after the staff showed symptoms. Yujin, Mashiro, Xiaoting, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, Youngeun, and Yeseo had received COVID-19 negative results.

We inform you that the group Kep1er under our companies, who is preparing to debut on December 14, will have to postpone their promotion plans.
On the morning of December 4, a staff member who worked with Kep1er tested positive for COVID-19. As soon as the staff member had suspicious symptoms of getting infected, the artists underwent preemptive tests, and the results were all negative. Currently, the members do not display any symptoms of infection such as fever or respiratory problems.
All relevant employees have received virus tests, and there are no further confirmed positive cases to date. As for those who have not received the results, they are in the process of isolation.
Putting the health and safety of Kep1er’s members and our staff first, we have suspended all scheduled activities, and therefore Kep1er’s promotional schedule will definitely be postponed. We apologize to the fans who have been waiting for Kep1er’s debut and to all the staff that have been involved. We will share another announcement in the future when the group resumes.
We will take all necessary measures so that our artists and staff can work in the safest environment and will strictly follow all medical guidelines and procedures. Thank you all for your time.
Will Kep1er still attend 2021 MAMA?
Kep1er is one of the lineup artists we have been waiting for to perform in the 2021 MAMA, along with aespa, Stray Kids, ITZY, Brave Girls, ATEEZ, and more. The 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) is set on December 11, three days before Kep1er actual debut date. However, we release this article, there is no official statement about whether Kep1er will still perform in the 2021 MAMA yet.
