24:00 Kim Hyun Jae Leaving JTBC PEAK TIME Kpop Show
Last week, JTBC Peak Time Kpop show encountered a setback after a post on an online community accused one of its participants of being a perpetrator of school bullying. And earlier this week, it turned out that the participant in question was a member of team 24:00, Kim Hyun Jae.
Following the serious accusation, the JTBC Peak Time Kpop show decided it was best for Kim Hyun Jae to leave the program.
On March 13, the production team of JTBC Peak Time Kpop show released an official statement, announcing that Kim Hyun Jae would be leaving the program after being involved in the school bullying accusation.
“Hello, this is JTBC Peak Time production team.
Since the two parties involved made opposite claims, we had been trying to be extremely careful in investigating the facts of the case so no innocent victims would suffer from unfair consequences.
However, today, we concluded that the issue could not be solved in a short time. Therefore, the production team decided that it is best for Kim Hyun Jae to step down from the show.
All participants are currently working hard to prove their values and protect their teams. So we ask for your immense support for all the team taking the challenges with hope. We will do our best to show you greater stages until the end of the show.
Thank you.”

Kim Hyun Jae Denied School Bullying Allegations
Along with the official statement from JTBC Peak Time Kpop show, former participant Kim Hyun Jae denied the school bullying allegations. In addition, he posted an extended explanation on Instagram, sharing his side of the story.
According to his statement, Kim Hyun Jae had contacted A, who claimed to be his alleged bullying victim. However, nothing in both their memories was a match. However, Kim Hyun Jae believed that none of the accusations were true.
“I spoke directly to the writer (of the post), but it turned out that our memories were so different. So it was no longer possible to solve the matter through conversation.
However, what I can tell you is that it was absolutely not true.
Still, since I believed I could no longer harm members of the 24:00 team and the Peak Time program, I decided to drop out during this injustice.”

Past and Ongoing Issues + to Take Legal Actions
Kim Hyun Jae further stated that there were times when A and he had issues in the past. For example, one time, he saw A slapping their friend B in the schoolyard. At the time, he pushed A while asking them what had happened. But A reported him to the police, and the situation was cleared up as misunderstandings. They both apologized and went home.
Due to their distorted memories, Kim Hyun Jae even asked B, the police officer involved, teachers, and alumni. Finding them wasn’t difficult as they lived on a small island. B stated that A didn’t really hit them with slippers, while the police officer said that if it was something as serious as a school transfer was required, the officer would have remembered.
The former JTBC Peak Time Kpop show participant also stated that the door-fingernail incident and some other accusations directed at him did not happen. In fact, it was A who once pulled a prank on him by giving him urine-colored water. Moreover, A’s mother also posted in a now-deleted YouTube comment that, mocking Kim Hyun Jae’s parents as having dog-trash personality.
That is why Kim Hyun Jae will file a lawsuit, taking legal action against A for defamation and spreading false information.
