New Korean Drama “Iron Family” Storyline
The upcoming Korean drama “Iron Family” is a black comedy drama. It delves into the warm love and fierce conflicts within families. It allows viewers to reflect on the meaning of ‘family’ in modern society.
The storyline revolves around the third-generation family members who are running a laundry business. When they come across unexpected money, they see it as a potential solution to their problems. Just as an iron smoothens out wrinkles, they hope it will enable them to focus on their dreams rather than every day worries.
Korean Drama “Iron Family” Cast and Characters: Kim Jung Hyun, Choi Tae Joon, and More
In this drama, Kim Jung Hyun will play the role of Seo Kang Joo, while Geum Sae Rok will play the role of Ye Da Rim. Unfortunately, there’s no further information regarding their roles.
Choi Tae Joon will portray Cha Tae Woong, a man living in a rooftop room in Clean Villa. Working at Clean Laundry, he interacts with the clean family members like his own, depicting various relationships.
Yang Hye Ji will play Lee Cha Rim, the eldest daughter of three siblings and a newcomer designer. In addition, Lee Sung Yeol takes on the role of Choi Hyeong-cheol, a police officer at the Cheongrim Police Station. Despite being a qualified police officer, he feels dissatisfied as his father is a professor, his mother a painter, his older brother a prosecutor, and his sister a doctor. However, he takes pride in being a police officer. In the drama, Choi Hyeong Cheol falls in love with his female police colleague.
Production
Titled “Iron Family,” the drama offers an exciting blend of family drama, comedy, and mystery. Director Sung Joon Hae will lead the production, while writer Seo Sook Hyang will pen the script.
The upcoming project will reunite Kim Jung Hyun with writer Seo Sook Hyang. They collaborated on Kim Jung Hyun’s debut drama, “Jealousy Incarnate,” in 2016.
Additionally, the upcoming drama marks Choi Tae Joon’s return as the main lead. The drama will be his first main role since appearing in “The Man’s Voice” in 2021. Choi Tae Joon tied the knot with actress Park Shin Hye in 2022 and became a father in May of the same year. Following these life events, he took on smaller parts in several popular K-dramas such as “Twenty-Five Twenty-One,” “Island,” “Flex X Cop,” and “The Midnight Studio.“
The upcoming new drama, “Iron Family,” is a weekend Korean drama series on KBS with 36 episodes. It is set to premiere in September this year after the finale of “Beauty and Mr. Romantic.” With actors in their 20s and 30s, “Iron Family” aims to refresh the weekend drama experience for viewers.
