The 2022 Seoul International Drama Awards have announced the winners of the Korean drama category. Actor Kim Seon Ho, BLACKPINK Jisoo, and more Korean artists and dramas won awards at the 2022 Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) under the Korean drama category.

The Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) is the largest international award that honors TV drama productions and actors worldwide and is based in South Korea.
The awards consist of three categories. They are International Competition, International Invitation, and Korean Drama. Each consists of two categories, Program (i.e., Best Drama) and Individual (i.e., Best Performance). The nominees are selected based on appearances in dramas that air between May 2021 to June 2022.
About 225 dramas from 39 countries were submitted and assessed. The jury will select the International Competition winners. Meanwhile, the Individual Performance category under International Invitation and Korean Drama are selected by global fan voting using the mobile voting app “Idol Champ.”
In the Korean drama category, 35 actors, 32 actresses, 39 idol actors, and 40 OSTs competed in the final round. After a month of global voting, it’s officially closed on August 31. The voting results were announced on September 5, 2022.

Korean Dramas
The Red Sleeve

With the drama OST, “Love Always Run Away,” the trot singer Lim Young Woong won the “Best K-Drama OST” award. It was the OST for the Korean drama “Young Lady And Gentleman” (2021-2022). He received the highest number of votes, with a final tally of 2.9 million votes or 59.53%.

Kim Seon Ho
Korean actor Kim Seon Ho has fascinated global audiences with his role in the hit drama “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.” The drama aired on Netflix in 2021. The actor topped the “Outstanding Korean Drama Actor” voting with 455,719 votes or 53.39%. However, although he didn’t take any drama projects this year, many of his fans are anticipating his upcoming debut film, “Sad Tropical. “
Kim Jisoo
Then, Kim Jisoo, also known as BLACKPINK Jisoo selected as the Best Actress. She successfully played her first female lead in K-drama “Snowdrop” (2021-2022). She received 133,260 votes or 41.58%. This year she will be busy with a world tour with her group BLACKPINK. Then, hopefully, she will return to the small screen with another exciting drama afterward.
K-POP Idol
Further, the outstanding K-pop Idol goes to star Kang Daniel. He is not only a talented singer but also a young CEO in the music industry. Kang Daniel made his acting debut in K-drama “Rookie Cops” in 202-2022.
He received 45% of the votes and took first place in the “Outstanding Korean Idol Actor” category. With this winning, many K-drama lovers and Kpop fans are waiting for his next play on the small screen.
The Outstanding Asian Stars winners are as follows: Wallace Chung (China), Yusei Yagi (Japan), Belle Mariano (Philippines), Krit Amnuaydechkorn (Thailand), and Alice Ko (Taiwan).
