What is “Touching the Void” About?

Produced by The Best Play, “Touching the Void” is a theatrical play telling the stories of two mountain hikers who take on a path and journey nobody has attempted before. The play is based on the true story of British mountaineers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates, who climbed the western ice wall of Siula Grande in the Andes Mountains of Peru in 1985 using an extremely technical pathway.

Especially after Joe slipped, fell, and broke his tibia, his survival was incredibly based on Simon’s empathy and loyalty.
