The controversy surrounding YoonA and Lee Junho’s new Kdrama, King the Land, continues. In response, fans from around the globe rallied against King the Land on various social media platforms. They demanded King the Land Kdrama production team revise the details and apologize for disrespecting the Arab Prince and culture.

Today, the production team behind King the Land released a statement addressing the portrayal of Prince Samir in Episode 7. However, instead of apologizing for the mistake, they denied all the accusations.
KING THE LAND Kdrama Team: “Prince Samir in Episode 7 is Fiction”
On July 10, Sports Chosun and SPOTV reported an official statement by King the Land Kdrama production team. They addressed the cultural distortion accusation in Episode 7.
In the statement, King the Land production team denied all the allegations. Instead, they said everything about Prince Samir in King the Land episode 7 was pure fiction. The character had no affiliations to certain places and regions.

Fans Are Even More Furious!
Due to this denial from King the Land production team, fans are getting even more furious. Instead of owning the mistake and apologizing, the production team keeps denying facts that are clearly visible to the public.
Fans argue that Prince Samir speaking Arabic and wearing distinct Arabian outfits in Episode 7 of King the Land is sufficient to identify him as an Arab Prince. But most importantly, the Kdrama explicitly mentioned that King the Land Prince Samir was an “Arab wangja”, which literally translated to “Arab Prince”.
Therefore, it is unacceptable for the production team to deny these clear details. And fans are getting even more furious that the King the Land team refuses to apologize for this disrespect.
