So, what happened to “King the Land” Kdrama and its actors after the Arab Prince controversy? Let us discuss and reveal the issue deeper.
UPDATE July 14:
“King the Land” has now changed the scene in Episode 7 due to Arab Prince controversy. The production team has ommited the bar scene and only showed Lee Junho’s character talking on a phone conversation with Prince Samir.
While this may have resolved the heated situation, unfortunately it also resulted in reduced screen appearance of actor Anupam Tripathi.

“King the Land” Kdrama Issues Apology After Awful Consequences for Arab Prince Controversy
“King the Land” Kdrama may have become one of the most skyrocketing projects for the first half of this year. Its mainstream but enticing theme, topped with having the dream couple, actors YoonA and Lee Junho, as its main cast resulted in a skyrocketing reputation for the “King the Land” Kdrama.
Even though the project encountered various setbacks due to its problematic issues and criticism, “King the Land” still rose to the top of the Kdrama ranking for several weeks.
This was until the production team made an irreversible mistake in the Kdrama’s plot.
Although it may have become a favorite global entertainment, Kdramas have long been infamous for its poor research and disrespectful attitude towards other cultures and nations. Apparently, the “King the Land” production team also made the same rude mistake: they disrespected the Arab Prince and its culture in a false portrayal controversy.
They brought an Indian actor, put him in Arab traditional clothes, and make him act as if he’s uneducated and obsessed with alcohol and girls… this is extremely disrespectful and offensive. We need an apology.#JTBCAPOLOGIZE#KingTheLandEp7#KingTheLand

Yet, even after facing widespread criticism from the international Kdrama community, the “King the Land” production team continued to deny their disrespect towards the Arab Prince and culture. Therefore, the denial infuriated the viewers even more, resulting in fatal consequences.
Fatal Consequences Against the Kdrama and Its Actors
Due to the disrespectful controversy towards the Arab Prince and culture, “King the Land” Kdrama and its actors must face fatal consequences.
Immediately after realizing that the production team had no intention to apologize in their denial, fans bombed the Kdrama with even worse campaigns and criticisms.
On July 12, “King the Land” ratings had slumped to the point of no return. The Kdrama received the worst reviews on various global sites, including Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb.
As of today, “King the Land” Kdrama still scores 12% of the audience on Rotten Tomatoes. At the same time, the Kdrama’s ratings also hit rock bottom with 1.8 stars out of 10 on IMDb.
Moreover, as if these low ratings were not enough, global fans also bombed the Instagram comments of “King the Land” actors. The Kdrama’s main actress Lim YoonA, and most particularly actor Anupam Tripathi who played the Arab Prince character, Prince Samir, received massive criticism and hate for the “King the Land” controversy.
All this occurred because of the disrespect and controversy the “King the Land” Kdrama caused regarding the Arab Prince and culture.
