Kpop groups disbandment in less than one year after debuting is not only happening these recent years. Apparently, numerous groups are not as lucky as some “big names” in the Kpop industry. Here are some Kpop girl groups that debuted and disbanded within less than one year, around 2012 to 2018.

1. O21
Debuted on June 20, 2016, under FNC China with the debut single “SHOW ME,” O21 gained recognition because one of the members (Weiyang) is a Filipino. But unfortunately, the girl group was only active for less than a year and got disbanded in 2017 due to the THAAD issue.
2. LXIA
Kpop girl group under 2J Production, LXIA, debuted on April 5, 2012, with their single “Sexy Brown.” However, the group disbanded shortly after their debut and they deleted everything they have released.
3. VIVIDIVA
VIVIDIVA was a 5-member girl group under DN Entertainment. They debuted on September 15 with their single “Service.” Unfortunately, VIVIDIVA disbanded only six months after debuting on March 24, 2016.
4. MIXX
Motivation, Impression, XX Chromosomes or MIXX was a Kpop girl group under Chiko Entertainment. They debuted on May 3, 2016, and disbanded on March 16, 2017. One of their underrated songs is “Love is a Sudden.”
5. The Ark
A 5-member Kpop girl group under Music K Entertainment also disbanded less than one year after debuting. The Ark debuted on April 12, 2015, but the agency officially announced the Kpop girl group disbandment in March 2016.
6. Kiss&Cry
Debuted under Winning Insight Media on January 25, 2014, Kiss&Cry got disbanded only less than one year after debuting. Bohye, Haena, Dia, and Yumi released their debut singles “Domino Game” and “Bad Girl,” but in August 2014, they announced the group disbandment shortly after Haena left.
7. SWINCLE
Jisoo, Hyeran, Songhee, Mika, and Jihee originally had a ‘KARA musical concept’ for their group. SWINCLE debuted on March 18, 2011, with “Shake Ur Body.” However, there was an issue about the group’s manager sending threats to the company’s CEO that probably led to the disbandment shortly after the debut.
8. Bob Girls
On June 10, 2014, Bob Girls debuted under Chrome Entertainment. They released two singles, “No Way” and “Oh My Boy,” before one of the members (Jina) departed due to encephalitis. Shortly after, the group terminated the contract and officially disbanded in early 2015.
9. Ye-A
Ye-A originally debuted under Kiroy Company and later under Shinhoo Entertainment. On July 18, 2014, the group debuted with their album “National Treasure.”
However, they have never released any more music after that. Hence, Ye-A became one of the Kpop girl groups that disbanded less than one year after debuting, although they never officially announced the disbandment.
10. PURPLAY
PURPLAY debuted under Purplei Entertainment on February 21, 2013, with “Watch Out Purplay.” Unfortunately, in less than one year, the Kpop girl group announced their disbandment.
11. 84LY
84LY was a 6-member Kpop girl group under Show M Entertainment. On September 30, 2012, they debuted with their single “Girl Talk.” Unfortunately, the group disbanded in 2013.
12. ACE
ACE was a Kpop girl group under Worthy Entertainment. Jina, Yujin, Dareum, and Seora debuted on September 11, 2015. However, they announced the group disbandment in 2016.
13. LoveUs
LoveUs was a Kpop girl group under Creative Su Entertainment. On July 16, 2015, the girls made their debut and released two singles, “Tickle” and “Lovely Boy.” Unfortunately, the Kpop girl group announced their disbandment in January 2016, only less than one year after debuting.
14. Kitten Girls
One of the Kpop girl groups that faced disbandment in less than one year was Kitten Girls. Debuted on September 4, 2018, with “U ME US,” it seemed that they did pretty good. They released the debut single in different versions: Korean, Chinese, English, and Japanese. Unfortunately, in late 2018, they didn’t update their SNS and might have disbanded silently.
15. 1NB
The name 1NB is an acronym for 1 New Best. The 5-member Kpop girl group made their debut under Trivus Entertainment on November 29, 2017. However, the group disbanded on April 27, 2018.
It is regrettable to see them disbanded in such a short period. On the other hand, though, they might have a brighter future after the group disbandment.
