In the music industry, especially Kpop, timing and luck are two essential things. Not only is timing tricky, but it also depends much on luck. One song might not receive so much attention when it was first released but rises on music charts some years later. Here are 5 Kpop songs stepping on charts years after release.
5 Kpop Songs on Charts Years After Released
1. EXID – ‘Up & Down’
The 5-piece Kpop girl group, EXID, was about to be disbanded. However, the success of the fancam of Hani dancing had saved the girls from disbandment. They even promoted their music again, and it became a turning point for EXID.
2. Brave Girls – ‘Rollin”
The song Rollin’ was initially released in 2017 as the track single for Brave Girls’ EP. However, at that time, KBS informed that Rollin’ was unfit for broadcast because the lyrics contain a slang word that is too vulgar.
However, thanks to a compilation of Brave Girls’ Rollin’ performances they took in the military bases, they received music lovers’ attention. The girls are stepping to #2 in the KPop Girl Group Popularity and Brand Reputation Rankings published by The Korean Business Research Institute, following Blackpink.
On March 14, Brave Girls performed Rollin’ in Inkigayo.
