The COVID-19 pandemic seems to have changed major parts of our lives, including in the fashion world. This year, NYFW (New York Fashion Week) is held virtually. And the best thing is that Kpop stars like TXT Yeonjun, WayV YangYang, and Bibi are on the NYFW 2021 virtual runway.
Korean Designers at NYFW
Created by the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), New York Fashion Week 2021 brought up Concept Korea with three up-and-coming Korean designers. The three designers are Ul:Kin, JARRET, and WNDERKAMMER.
Ul:Kin
Ul:Kin is a relatively new Korean fashion brand from 2014. In the New York Fashion Week 2021, Ul:Kin brought the theme ‘Slaughter.’ The Korean fashion brand points out that ‘the way we are using natural resources will lead to some deadly consequences for humanity.’ The collection of Ul:Kin in NYFW 2021 is based on upcycling, rebuilding, and deconstruction that showcases the theme.
JARRET
Debuting in the Seoul Fashion Week of 2010, JARRET has been traveling around the world and featuring in different fashion shows. JARRET collection in New York Fashion Week 2021 focuses on human narcissistic desire. AS quoted from koreaproductpost, the collection is ‘the story of the struggle as old as the time between one’s relationship with others and the outside world and with Querencia,’ which refers to space where one feels fully at home and draws strength from.
WNDRKAMMER
Derived from the German word ‘Wunderkammer,’ the Korean fashion label wants to represent ‘cabinets of curiosity,’ where people collect special and personal memorabilia and things. WNDRKAMMER collection for NYFW 2021 is inspired by Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, the wife of John E. Kennedy Jr..
Kpop Stars on NYFW 2021 Runway
TXT Yeonjun
The NYFW 2021 is a modeling debut event for TXT Yeonjun. Although it is his first time being on fashion runway, Yeonjun appeared flawlessly in the collection from Ul:Kin by Lee Sung Dong.
WayV YangYang
The same thing with TXT Yeonjun, the KPop star WayV YangYang also made his modeling debut in this NYFW 2021. He successfully astonishes fashion and Kpop lovers with his appearance in JARRET collection by Lee Ji Yeon.

Bibi
The South Korean female R&B singer, Bibi, is one of the Kpop stars on the NYFW 2021 runway. She looks stunning wearing the ‘Slaughter’ collection from Ul:Kin.
