Lee Dong Wook will be adding one grander project to his production list this year with his appearance in the historical movie, “Harbin”. With the two more seasons of “Tale of Nine Tailed”, upcoming drama “The Good Man”, and “Harbin”, Lee Dong Wook will be busy like a bee until next year!
On November 17, Korean media reported that Lee Dong Wook agency had confirmed the actor’s appearance as cast in the Korean movie, “Harbin”.
Lee Dong Wook will act alongside “Harbin” existing cast members: Hyun Bin, Jeon Yeo Been, Park Jung Min, Yoo Jae Myung, Jo Woo Jin, and Park Hoon. And he will be perfecting the star-studded cast and their incredible chemistry throughout the movie.
“Harbin” Korean Movie: What Is It About?
“Harbin” is a movie based on the real-life story of the fight for independence in South Korea. Set in the year 1900 in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang, China’s northernmost province, “Harbin” Korean movie depicts the story of Korean independent activists in the form of spy action movies.
In “Harbin” Korean movie, we will witness the fight and struggle of these activists who risk their lives to take back their homeland, Korea. These brave and fierce activists will be fighting in Harbin, far away from their home, to reclaim Korea from the Japanese Empire.
As previously discussed, Hyun Bin will play the main character in the Korean movie, “Harbin”. In the film, he will portray Ahn Jung Geun, the Lieutenant General of the Korean Army.
Actress Jeon Yeo Been will fight alongside Hyun Bin in “Harbin” Korean movie as Madame Gong, a fellow member of the Independence army.
At the same time, actors Park Jung Min, Jo Woo Jin, and Yoo Jae Myung will portray fellow activists. These actors will be fighting alongside Hyun Bin in the new Korean movie, “Harbin”.
Park Jung Min will become the independence warrior Woo Deok Soon, who will do anything for his country even if he must sacrifice himself. Joo Wo Jin will play Kim Sang Hyun, and Yoo Jae Myung as Ahn Jung Geun’s assistant Choi Jae Hyung. Both characters will work with Ahn Jung Geun to fulfill their grand mission.
Meanwhile, Park Hoon will portray Mori Datsuo from the Japanese Empire.

On November 14, the whole production team of “Harbin” visited Ahn Jung Geun Memorial Museum. They held a special ceremony to remember and honor all the sacrifices the activists had made for Korea’s independence. During this visit, the cast and director of “Harbin” Korean movie expressed that this project has profound meaning and pressure for them.
“I am both nervous and excited because this movie carries an approach, mindset, and story that are completely different from my previous works. So, I wish for safety and safe filming for all our staff.”
