Hook Entertainment CEO Kwon Jin Young Posted Official Apology
After the ongoing dispute with Lee Seung Gi blew up, exposing her gaslighting and unfair treatment to the actor, Hook Entertainment CEO Kwon Jin Young released an official apology.
On November 30, Hook Entertainment CEO Kwon Jin Young apologized to the public in an official statement. She expressed her intention to take full responsibility and would even dispose of her personal properties if necessary.
Lee Seung Gi to Terminate Exclusive Contract with Hook Entertainment: Leaving the Agency for Good

On December 1, Korean media reported that Lee Seung Gi would be leaving Hook Entertainment agency for good. The singer-actor had sent a notice to terminate his exclusive contract with the agency following the ongoing dispute of unfair payment and gaslighting with company CEO Kwon Jin Young.
Based on an exclusive report from News 1, Lee Seung Gi’s representative had requested certification of content for his digital music revenue. However, Hook Entertainment never gave a proper answer. Instead, they only sent reports containing a lack of data and missing documents.
News 1 report further mentioned that Hook Entertainment’s side had partially acknowledged the unfair settlement of Lee Seung Gi’s music. Therefore, it means that the agency had violated its obligations under the exclusive contract. And since the agency did not make any corrections, it automatically called for the termination of the exclusive contract between Lee Seung Gi and Hook Entertainment agency.

Hook Entertainment is A Sinking Ship After Lee Seung Gi Leaving the Agency
Once the reports of Lee Seung Gi leaving Hook Entertainment circulated on the internet and social media, the anticipation of what became the company’s future started rising.
As we all know, Lee Seung Gi plays a massive part in building the company’s reputation. The agency managed to rise to this day thanks to its top-tier artists, including Youn Yuh Jung and Lee Seung Gi.

And as if that was not enough, CEO Kwon Jin Young was suspected of using the company’s funds for personal expenses and even tax evasion. The company CEO had allegedly embezzled about 2.8 billion KRW (2.2 million USD approximately) according to Dispatch report.
On December 1, Chosun DB exclusive report revealed that the South Korean National tax service had started to verify allegations of CEO Kwon’s tax evasion. As a result, Hook Entertainment and its CEO Kwon Jin Young will be under official investigation if any allegations are verified.
“We are aware of the issues regarding Hook Entertainment and CEO Kwon Jin Young private use of corporate expenses through media reports. So, we are currently checking internal tax source information, including expenses and evidence.”

Furthermore, the report also stated that Hook Entertainment is currently in a state of paralysis. It means that following the severe mistreatment Hook Entertainment had done to Lee Seung Gi, which resulted in him leaving, the agency is currently unable to operate fully. And that is especially when this case has affected the company’s other artists.
Hook Entertainment’s #1 top entertainer Lee Sun Hee is under suspicion and allegations of being involved in Lee Seung Gi’s unfair payment disputes. This suspicion has damaged her reputation even after Hook Entertainment had defended her.
