LeeHi Becomes the FIRST Korean Artist in the Spotify Holiday Collection Playlist

On November 18, Spotify announced the 2021 additions to the ever-growing ‘Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection’ playlist. This year, LeeHi participated as the FIRST Korean artist and the ONLY artist from Asia in the Spotify Holiday Collection playlist.

LeeHi Participated in ‘Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection’ Project

As the first Korean artist to participate in the collection, LeeHi recorded her heartwarming single ‘For You’ with a fresh new holiday vibe as an exclusive track on Spotify. Since it is the exclusive project, the track is only available on Spotify.

Being able to participate in the project, LeeHi expresses her joy by sharing,

“Thanks to Spotify, I was able to reinterpret ‘For You’ into a new romantic holiday song perfect for this year-end season. It was fun to recreate a much-loved track to a holiday version just for Spotify’s Holiday Singles for broader international music fans. What is ‘Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection’?

‘Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection’ is one of Spotify Singles playlists that feature original songs re-recorded in a fresh new way and covers by artists. It offers a reimagined version of various holiday tracks as well as originals.

Over the past five years, Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection has helped spread holiday cheer to Spotify users worldwide. The collection has featured differentiated holiday songs from artists – such as John Legend, Camilo, Norah Jones, Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Sam Smith, Julien Baker, and Demi Lovato – to give listeners instant holiday cheer and vibe. And this year, for the first time ever, Spotify expanded the range of artists participating in the holiday collection outside the United States to make the Christmas holiday a truly global holiday moment.

Meanwhile, Spotify Singles is Spotify’s program that provides artists with the opportunity to re-record one of their songs in a fresh new way and cover a song of their choice. Since the program began in 2016, there have been more than 600 recordings in the Spotify Singles program, from more than 300 artists, across all genres. To date, it has collectively hit over 5 billion streams and over 2.2 million followers across the playlist portfolio.

‘Spotify Singles: Holiday Collection’ 2021 Playlist

This year, Spotify has worked closely with artists from multiple genres to recreate holiday classics. As a result, the collection has 12 freshly-recorded covers and originals from artists including Spoon, Ashnikko, Nao, jxdn, Caylee Hammack, Chandler Moore, MisterWives, and Surfaces, as well as a global slate of artists such as LeeHi (Korea), Alexandra Streliski (Canada), El Alfa (Latin America), and LOVA (the Nordics).
