The rising global girl group, XG, have achieved a remarkable milestone with their song LEFT RIGHT by holding on to the Mediabase Top 40 Radio Airplay Chart for an unprecedented ten weeks in a row.
XG Chart in the US Radio Top 40 for 10 Weeks in A Row
The achievement of XG marks the first for any Japanese female artist or group. Moreover, XG is now recognized as the first-ever Asian female group to maintain a spot on the Mediabase Top 40 Radio Airplay Chart for ten consecutive weeks.
Since its release, LEFT RIGHT by XG has been on the global playlists of multiple music streaming services, with many US radio DJs playing the song, further boosting its massive popularity in the US.
The remix version of the song, introduced through a surprise performance by Jackson Wang and Ciara at Coachella 2023, was released on May 5 under the title LEFT RIGHT REMIXX (FEAT. CIARA X JACKSON WANG // PROD BY JAKOPS).
The original track is in the Hip hop/R&B genre, characterized by repeating synth loops and trap beats. The vocals for the remix have been newly arranged by R&B queen Ciara and Jackson Wang, who is fast emerging as a global artist. This new arrangement adds an exciting and diverse appeal to the track.
Witness the journey of XG through XTRA XTRA documentary series
XG also posted today the second episode in their documentary series XTRA XTRA, which chronicles the five years leading up to their debut.
In XTRA XTRA EP X1, the XG members reflect on their trainee days. The story begins with each member, such as JURIN, a professional snowboarder at the time, and HARVEY, who was a model. Then, the members talk about their motivation to join the XGALX project and become artists.
In June 2018, 21 trainees stepped into XGALX’s dedicated studio. The documentary shows the girls excited to begin their new lives, before focusing on the hard training ahead, with Simon treating them as adults rather than children, often with harsh words. Finally, the girls’ life as trainees at XGALX begins, and they start to realize their dreams. This video shows the very beginnings of XG and makes for compelling viewing.
At the end of the video, a short clip from the Korean training camp is shown as a preview of the next episode. The documentary ends with SIMON saying that the team ranked third place will be eliminated from the project. Fans are looking forward to seeing the next episode of XTRA XTRA.
Additionally, this weekend, XG is scheduled to perform live in Japan for the first time at KCON 2023 JAPAN, one of the world’s largest festivals of Korean culture. And stay with Kpoppost Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Telegram channel for more XG news and updates.
