The possibility of Lisa leaving YG Entertainment has increased. Although the agency hopes to reach a settlement before the contract expiration date, there is a significant difference between the two sides, making it harder to reach an agreement. With the increased possibility of Lisa leaving the agency, the stock price of YG Entertainment is sharply declining.
YG Entertainment Does Not Arrange Schedule for Lisa
On July 12, Munhwa Ilbo reported that Lisa and YG Entertainment had yet to reach an agreement on the contract renewal. Following the exclusive contract expiration of BLACKPINK members in August, there is a high chance Lisa will not extend her exclusive contract with YG Entertainment.
Although the Thai singer-rapper-dancer and the agency have been discussing the contract renewal, it is hard to reach an agreement. Meanwhile, the discussion with the other three members – Jisoo, Rosé, and Jennie – has gone smoothly.
Furthermore, the rumor of Lisa leaving YG Entertainment gained traction when an anonymous Chinese agency informed Munhwa Ilbo that YG had not arranged Lisa’s schedule for after August.
“We discussed Lisa’s appearance [on the show] while coordinating with YG and Lisa’s schedule, but it was conveyed [to us] that it is difficult to arrange scheduled activities after August as their contract renewal with Lisa is uncertain.”
Anonymous Chinese agency to Munhwa Ilbo.
However, in response to the report, YG Entertainment denied any connection to the contract renewal issue. Instead, it is due to Lisa’s hectic tour schedule with BLACKPINK.
“[The uncertain scheduling] is due to the tour schedule as well as her individually scheduled activities. It has nothing to do with the contract renewal.”

Stock Price of YG Entertainment Drops
As one of the most famous girl groups under YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK has gained significant recognition. Additionally, Lisa greatly impacts the company as a BLACKPINK member and a solo star.
The rumor of Lisa’s departure is impacting the company’s stock price. Consequently, YG Entertainment’s stock price is on a sharp decline. As reported on July 12 at 12.08 PM KST, YG Entertainment is recording KRW 72,900, down 7.60% from the previous day. YG stock has been decreasing since January 2023, when first the rumor of Lisa leaving the agency circulated.
