The K-pop world has been shaken recently by the alarming news of death threats directed at LOOSSEMBLE Hyeju (Olivia Hye). These threats stem from Hyeju’s latest tattoo. They have sparked a significant outcry from fans, particularly Orbits and C.Loo, the fandom dedicated to supporting the members of LOONA and LOOSSEMBLE.

Hyeju’s Journey with Tattoos: Death Threats and Deepfake Contents
Hyeju has openly expressed her desire to get a tattoo since 2020. Fans first noticed her tattoo in 2022, marking a significant moment in her personal journey of self-expression.
Her new shoulder tattoo, however, has been the source of disturbing backlash. A specific social media account has not only issued death threats but also indicated intentions to harm her during LOOSSEMBLE’s upcoming concert in Los Angeles this October.
guys this is not a fucking joke!! this is what they’re threatening!! if you’re going to the LA concert please be super careful. @ctdenm DO SMTHN https://t.co/Ze1kwf0duH pic.twitter.com/hN5K2cp6Sr

What has made the situation even more harrowing is the circulation of deepfake sexual content featuring Hyeju. Fans believe the hate comments and deepfake content were spread by the same individual behind the threats.
Fans Concern about Hyeju’s Safety
C.Loo is deeply troubled by the lack of action from LOOSSEMBLE’s agency, CTDENM. They have been spreading awareness by trending #CTD_PROTECT_HYEJU. Moreover, they send emails urging the agency to protect Hyeju and address these hate-fueled attacks. However, according to C.Loo, CTDENM has yet to make any concrete moves to ensure her safety.
The threats have not only upset fans but also reignited conversations about the toxic culture of harassment in the K-pop industry, where idols are often targeted for their personal choices. Hyeju’s tattoo, which she had wanted for years, should have been a moment of personal expression and celebration. Instead, it has become the focal point of dangerous attention from those who seem intent on harming her.
