On August 26, a live broadcast on Discovery Channel Korea YouTube channel introduced a new variety show. The ‘How A Family Is Made’ cast members talked about what it means to become a family.
What is ‘How a Family Is Made’?
The new variety show ‘How a Family Is Made’ is a reality program featuring several stars becoming virtual family members. ‘How a Family Is Made’ is co-produced by MBC and Discovery Channel Korea and set to premiere sometime later in 2021.
To tell about what ‘How a Family Is Made’ is, Son Ho Young started, “To tell you the basics, we are already one family. Several people can become one family, and there can also be a married couple.”
Yesung added, “We are still figuring it out ourselves, so we cannot tell you even if we know.”

How about the child actor Kim Kang Hoon? As the fact that he is the youngest cast of the new variety show, viewers expect to see him as the youngest of the family. However, Kim Kang Hoon said,
“I cannot say who I am a family with. I am closest with Dae Hwi. I could be the youngest of the family or even the oldest sibling. It feels like we have really become a family. Going to film feels like I’m going to hang out.”

What is Hyunjae role in ‘How a Family Is Made’? Still, we haven’t got any clear clue yet.
“I have an actual older sister, but I also thought it would be nice to have an older brother or younger siblings. I’m glad to have new family members through a great opportunity.”

When asked about potential couples in the show, THE BOYZ ‘Milk’ Hyunjae said,
“It seems like there could be, but I don’t really know, so I’ll say ‘no comment.'”

The new variety show seems to be different from any other existing variety shows.
“We met without knowing at all who we will become family members with. It was nice because it felt new, and the show went a really different direction from what I expected. It was fun because I was able to discover new sides of myself.” Yubin

In the video, Yesung told viewers the consideration for joining the new variety show.
“I anticipate that new sides of myself and warmth can be expressed when we become a family. International fans being able to watch our program also played a big part in my decision to join.”

While still preparing for BTOB 4U new album, Eunkwang appeared in the ‘What a Family Is Made’ introduction. Although he didn’t spill the bean about his role, he said that he enjoyed filming it.
“The staff made the filming atmosphere comfortable. It didn’t feel like we were filming but just felt like we came to hang out. We played lots of games also, and I even forgot there were cameras.”

Agreeing with Eunkwang, Kang Hye Won also felt that the variety show staff could cooperate well to make the filming process comfortable for all artists.
“I thought it could be uncomfortable having cameras filming constantly, but everyone made it comfortable, so filming went well.”

Not only a comfortable atmosphere, but Lim Nayoung also felt recharged in the filming set.
“I received a lot of comfort from ‘How a Family Is Made,’ so I always look forward to filming, and it gives me more strength.” L

Having three WayV members, the new variety show seems to give a new family to those stars whose families are overseas.
“It’s the first time that the three of us are participating [in a program] together. Because our families are overseas, we cannot meet them often, so it’s really nice doing a program like this.”

Meanwhile, we know one role for Lee Dae Hwi. He produced the OST for ‘How a Family Is Made.’
“I participated as a music director. A song was naturally created while filming. I heard it will be revealed during the first episode.”
