Min Heejin x HYBE Drama Situation Heating Up Again
The drama controversy between HYBE and ADOR CEO Min Heejin is heating up again! Just when we thought that the companies were seizing their fires after all the damage caused by their latest dispute, ADOR CEO Min Heejin is back under the spotlight.
Only last week, Min Heejin showed up at Yongsan Police Station for an official investigation. People thought she had the upper hand in the drama situation against HYBE, but Min Heejin was only a small part of the giant corporation. Hence, she had to submit to the calling for the first defendant investigation on breach of trust charges.
When she completed her investigation at the police station, Min Heejin only commented briefly.
“The ‘breach of trust’ accusation is completely irrational. For me, it was like a joke that didn’t make sense. So, I told them everything truthfully.
I’m glad I could tell the truth and let everything out.”

Also, ADOR CEO Min Heejin left Yongsan Police Station with a big smile while confidently describing her relief. While this may be a good sign for ADOR and NewJeans fans, it may result in bad signals to the parent company, HYBE.
And so, the drama situation between HYBE and Min Heejin has escalated again, with Source Music chiming in with their own lawsuit.
Source Music Files Lawsuit Against Min Heejin Only to Dig Its Own Grave
On July 15, reports emerged that Source Music had filed a lawsuit against ADOR CEO Min Heejin.
Source Music is the company behind the 4th generation Kpop group, LE SSERAFIM, and one of the subsidiary labels of HYBE. Hence, it only escalated the heat in the HYBE x Min Heejin drama situation.
In the lawsuit, the company accused Min Heejin of slander and disrupting their work, asking for about 500 million KRW (around 364,000 USD) in damages. This amount is just an estimate and is expected to increase once they do a more detailed calculation.
According to multiple reports, Source Music has outlined three main issues in its lawsuit against Min Heejin:
- False Casting Claims: Min heejin claimed that she personally cast the members of NewJeans. Source Music disputes this assertion.
- Misleading Debut Promises: Min heejin alleged that HYBE promised she would debut their first girl group. Source Music also challenges this statement, claiming LE SSERAFIM was always slated to debut first.
- Baseless Neglect Allegations: Min heejin then accused Source Music of neglecting the NewJeans members. However, the company argues that these claims are unfounded and have harmed their reputation.
Additionally, Source Music states that these accusations have led to malicious comments targeting LE SSERAFIM. They claim that Min heejin’s comments have created a narrative that LE SSERAFIM’s debut had caused NewJeans to be overlooked by HYBE.
To bolster their case, Source Music has then gathered and submitted evidence. This includes proof that NewJeans’ debut was delayed due to Min heejin’s work on the company’s brand and documentation showing that she was aware LE SSERAFIM would debut first. They also provided examples of the hate comments resulting from these accusations.
Source Music Lies Heating Up HYBE x Min Heejin Drama Situation
Unfortunately, this lawsuit against Min Heejin only resulted in a heated-up situation in the drama controversy between HYBE and Min Heejin. Worse, it also causes unforeseen doom for Source Music and LE SSERAFIM.
Why? Because Source Music has now been caught in their own lies.
Following the lawsuit announcement, fans started responding with anger and backlash against Source Music. NewJeans’ fans, in particular, started digging up evidence to support Min’s claims.
They pointed out that Min heejin’s frustrations about HYBE promising that she would lead the first girl group from the company were all true. This promise was even publicly announced by Bang Si Hyuk himself during a business conference.

Not only that, but Source Music’s statement was also debunked by clear evidence, as shown by official news articles. At the time, Bang Si Hyuk personally revealed there would be a new girl group produced by himself and Min Heejin debuting under Source Music. More evidence also proved HYBE’s own lies, claiming that Min Heejin had recruited LE SSERAFIM Sakura.
All the evidence seems to align with Min Heejin’s press conference statements, proving HYBE’s lies.

Finally, due to the lies and lawsuit against Min Heejin, fans are now boycotting Source Music and LE SSERAFIM.
